Latest Check-Ins

Nice and relatively quiet. No problems. No bathroom or trash cans.

Report Check-In

Arrived at 8:30pm, was informed by a local walking her dogs that the area is “day use only” and police patrol the area to remove overnighters.

Report Check-In

Gorgeous location. Brynn out here collecting rubbish.

Report Check-In

Always a little worried when I go to a new spot but this one was worth the risk. Pretty spacious, nice view of the river and a great place to star gaze. Would recommend.

Report Check-In

As the descriptions say, this is a great little spot. Easy to find and easy to park with our 30 ft skoolie and a tow vehicle. there were two cars at the other end of the lot when we arrived but they were gone an hour or so after arrival. Very quiet peaceful. Light traffic in the morning but the river noise more than compensated. The sign says it is provided and maintained by the town of Parachute and it says public welcome. We took them at their word.

Report Check-In

We love this spot! It’s flat mostly. It’s right next to the river. 2 miles away from the interstate. 3 bars Verizon service. Fits our 40’ skoolie with ease. There could have been 3 more skoolie a packed tight together and they would have fit and I’d be okay with it. There’s 2 designated areas, but 2 vehicles would fit easily in both. DON’t IGNORE THE MAYFLY WARNINGS! Do not open your rig windows. You will regret it. There’s a porta potty. There’s a place to dip your toes in the water, but only for strong swimmers. Not for kids. The river is fast. We came on a Tuesday in July. We got here right before dark and are leaving by 9am. No one else was here or bothered us. 10/10 would recommend.

Report Check-In

Same as everyone has described, except for methheads (as of yet). But big thing to mention for this time of year is the dang mayflies, they are swarming us haha. If you fly fish send it.

Report Check-In

Small lot only room for 2 vans. Nice spot with picnic tables and could launch a kayak/paddle board. Local traffic on road a few feet away from this spot. Cell Service good and not bad option for 1 night stay.

Report Check-In

great location for a 25 ft TT and 20 ft towing van which we were able to leave connected overnight. good place for a quick dip but watch out for the strong current. fantastic overnight stay.

Report Check-In

Love this sight. It’s our second time stopping here. Two picnic tables, no port o potty any more but lovely flat place to overnight next to the beautiful Colorado River.

Report Check-In

Spent one night. Really perfect spot, but that’s probably why everyone wanted to go here. (At least when I was there). Any more than 2 rigs in there and it gets crowded. I arrived at 5 & was quickly joined by another camper, and I watched as at least one other overlander drove past and turned around.
Recommend getting there early if you want to stay the night.

Report Check-In

Arrived late and left early. Not a ton of room but we were the only ones there along the river. 2 Picnic tables.

Report Check-In

Gorgeous spot, amazing sunset over the river. It was pretty quiet when I came here, maybe because it’s kinda cold. Love it, so glad I came here to spend the night. Slept like a baby with the sound of the rushing river.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot near a lake right off the road

Report Check-In

Nice pull off on from the highway. A little noisy from and busy with traffic. Strange character came by at 10pm and tried to light the porta potty on fire. He left and we were able to sleep after that.

Report Check-In

Great little spot. No toilet but can get water from the clean river for cooking. Car camped peacefully for 1 night. 2 picnic tables...but be careful when driving to the second one, there is some big rocks and soft sand and can get stuck.

Report Check-In

Awesome place to stay for a night or two! A little take out for rafters and kayakers, some people were putting in when we woke up. It’s super quiet and lovely here. It’s cold this time of year so beware of that. We shared this site with one other car, but it was super spacious. There is no pit toilet. There is a fire pit, but right now it is high fire season. Right off of the highway and super easy for any vehicle to get back here. We made it in our Volkswagen Tiguan. Would recommend!

Report Check-In

Very pretty and peaceful at night along the river. However, there are more cons than positives to this site. The trash can was over flowing, bring ear plugs because it’s right next to the road and cars drive by all night, although not that many. One car or two separate cars honked as they drove by for about 5 seconds at about 2 am. Since there are no trees it gets WINDY. Really strong winds all night and morning. The site is good in a pinch, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Report Check-In

Toilet is back as of 6/16/19. Nice spot to camp in our sprinter.

Report Check-In

A good spot with light traffic that passes by.
It has a porta-john and some picknik tables. It's right on the edge of the Colorado river where you can safely get your feet wet if you want to. Sheriff drove by around 10 a.m. and we waved at each other.

Report Check-In

nice spot righ at the river with tables for picnic

Report Check-In

The picnic tables are still here, but no toilet any longer - at least not at this time of year. We stayed 1 night without issue. Quiet at night - except for the sounds of the River :)

Report Check-In

Recently improved. Nice, large gravel parking area with picnic tables right at the waters edge. Stayed one night.

Report Check-In

Hermoso lugar frente al río con mesas para picnic ,espacio para 2 o 3 vehículos .

Report Check-In

Clean, picnic tables, and a porta john. Great spot to enjoy the river and mountain views

Report Check-In

Nice site, it is right off the road but it's lightly trafficked. Spent two nights here, had a city official show up looking for some paddle boarders and he didn't seem to care that I was camped - a local said it was city (Parachute) property. Verizon LTE

Report Check-In

Literally off the side of the road, big enough for a truck camper, or smaller RV.

Nice views of the river and mountains.

No visible signs that parking isn’t allowed.

Stayed one night while passing through

Report Check-In

A kind of dirt parking spot just between the road and the Colorado river. Only space for one or two cars. Great view. River within feet distance. Easy access for all rigs from the paved road. No "no" signs. No signs at all. We stayed for 2 nights. Quiet and peaceful.
