Description

We were only going to stay one night, stayed 19 nights! We looove this place. It’s at the end of a dead end street in front of the beach, so trucks can park if you pay camp fee. There is also space inside for several cars to park, no height restriction. Places to pitch tents, private rooms and a dorm room also. We payed 15 dollars for two to stay in the dorm room we had just for ourselves, overlooking the ocean! There is a kitchen for guests, very clean bathrooms and showers, large outdoor fireplace, many hammocks, and dolphins swim close to the beach in front. They rent bikes. The owners are the nicest family, they took us out to some beaches and made dinner for us a couple of times.. made us feel like family. Cristobal, the dad, has worked in tourism his whole life and loves to travel too, he can let you know what to do around here, there is so much 19 days weren’t even enough.. contact: [email protected] phone: Cristobal Ventura and Lidia Baque 0993406552- 0991966417

the wi-fi was pretty slow and the signal wasn't the best in the camping area.
5$ per person

A fantastic place and they are constructing more spaces! 4$pp/pn.

Lidia&Cristóbal are so lovely and do everything for you.
There are actually two rooms with private bathroom, two more will be soon finished and a terasse with roof to tentcamp with an amazing view to the sea.
Two smaller spaces for car/vans are available and soon one more. They are building for every kind of travellers.

We have spent 2 nights with our camper in front of their house. The owners are suuuper friendly! They organized us a trip to the Isla de Plata (hike, snorkeling, turtles and lunch) with the taxi getting us to Puerto Lopez and bringing us back for 45 dollars per person. Quite night with sound of waves, very nice. Bathroom very clean.

very nice and helpful owner but this campsite is not made for big rigs. we went with a 24 feet US RV and there is no parking, it's too tight.

Report Check-In

We stayed there for 2 nights. The tent can be pitched in the attic with a beautiful view.

Clean toilets and showers. Kitchen for shared use.

Can definitely recommend the place, the village and the surrounding area.

Cristobal really takes care of his guests and Lydia cooks very well. Everything is simple but clean. I only heard the sea, even at a weekend!
I recommend this peaceful place

Lovely, quiet van camp spot right on the sand. Friendly family, good wifi, clean toilets and showers. Good electricity which doesn't give you random electric shocks like other places! And nice hang out spot under a big roof with tables and chairs and hammocks. $4/person.

On recommande.

We really enjoyed that place. We stayed 4 nights and the owners are really nice. They helped us to arrange a tour to the Isla plata with whales for 35$ per person taxi both ways included. All services available: electricity, water, wifi, toilets, kitchen, showers (cold). 4$ per person even for the children

We thought to find a campsite, here you park in the street, cold shower, the location is facing the sea but nothing special, the kitchen is al interior garden and used by the owners, no interest to pay $ 4 pp to be on the road.

beautiful location on a really charming beach, although there is a bit of rubbish on the beach. owners are very kind and helpful and want you to be comfortable and at home.
great WiFi.
great kitchen
clean showers and toilets.
lovely chill areas.
1.5hours to walk to Los Frailes (along main road then the senderismo/trail)

Report Check-In

We spent 15 days, including three weekends. It’s a good place to hide and avoid the usual racket on long weekends. At low tide, it’s an easy walk along the beach to Los Frailes. Lidia and Cristobal know a lot about the area and the activities, but you have to ask them; they’re too polite to push their info upon you. Cristobal is a guide in the Machalilla National Park.

Great place to stay. Great view to the sea. price is 4$ p.p.p.n .
taxi to puerto Lopez 4$ or shared taxi 1$ pp.

Awesome place to relax! Incredible view from the second floor of the bungalow where you can camp. Paid $10 per night for our family of two and a half :) Kitchen is very good. The place is exceptionally clean. The owners are very friendly. We stayed for two nights and had a place to ourselves! Very recommended. The shops and restaurants are few though, but you can take mototaxi for $.50 pp to get to the southern end of the town, where there are more options!

Great place to stay. Just wait until someone returns late afternoon. Brilliant location. Dogs welcome

The coordinates are accurate now but be aware there's no sign (until you walk inside the property). Parking is out front along the fence. We got power and paid $3pp. Wifi was not working when we arrived but was working by evening and stayed on - decent speed & actually reaches the beach palapa! Bathrooms clean, toilets have seats and there's TP. Lovely beach but there is garbage. Playa Los Frailes is 5km away and it's clean and quite nice but no shade. Nice hike in the park too. Lydia & Cristobol very nice. Good claro reception. We drove to Puerto Lopez after three days but found no good place for rigs so we came back and Cristobol arranged a tour to Isla Plata for us. We stayed three more nights. Not alot in town but Puerto Lopez has a Tia.

Update on directions. GPS will bring you in on the main road and say you arrived. Coming from the North, go a little further to the next dirt road to your right. There is a small sign there that says La Fogata. Turn right and follow the road to the dead end. La Canoa will be on your right, the beach on your left. We called ahead and followed a taxi to find it.

We had a great stay here for 2 nights while visiting the Galapogos islands of Isla de la Plata! Cristobol and Lidia are great hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. Clean bathrooms, with TP and seats. Hot shower, common sitting area, hammocks and more. we paid $3/person/night. We parked and had Cristobol call a taxi for us. The small town doesn't offer much for restaurants. We found 2 at the South side if town with Good seafood and prices. Puerto Lopez is a much better option for amenities, but not camping. Great stay!
