Guatemala
Nice parking spot, you could sleep here but the gates are locked at 10pm. Huge gate to fit big rig, $200Q for 7 nights. Sweet couple live on the grounds, they even gave us a complete car wash while we were parked.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We spent 2 weeks at this parking lot, which is run by a lovely family.
The road to the parking lot is narrow and very steep, but doable with our 7m long sprinter. There is no height limit for driving onto the pitch, but the PPs are covered (approx. 3m high, we would have fit well under them with our 2.85m height!). Since we have solar panels and didn't want to stand under the roof, we stood in the middle of the square. So it is also possible for higher vehicles.
The parking lot is in a quieter corner of San Pedro, only the services at the church next door are a little louder in the evenings.
We paid 200Q per week for parking plus 100Q per week so that we could use the shower and toilet (the family's sanitary facilities are shared).

Report Check-InSpent 3 nights here. Q50/night. Safe, quiet (church close by can be loud but never after 8/9PM). Lots are covered in case of rain. Max height might be around 2.70m. Access through some narrow and steep streets. Perfect location to visit the town and to jump in the lanchas to visit towns around the lake. Showers + WC
Report Check-InSecure parking with a very nice manager. Q200 per week or Q40 for two per night. There are sanitary facilities on site but we did not use them. Take the main roads to get there because it is not easy to drive in San Pedro with a large vehicle. At night the car park is closed by a gate and during the day there is always the family to watch over.
Report Check-Inconvenient secured parking with cold shower and flush toilet.
the family who runs thidbplsce is super sweet and the boys are always keen on some action ;)
30Q a night or 200Q a week.
great location in the more local part of town and away from the touristy side, but with easy access to everything.
still there. highly recommended. probably the best spot in San Pedro for overlanders. quiet at night. stayed there for more than a month. its 150 Q per week per vehicle, for shorter stays 25 Q per day. only one day maybe is 30 Q
the family who runs the place is wonderful. we cooked with them, played volleyball or soccer and went with the kids to the beach. reina, the mother, makes the best tortillas in guatemala for the same price as at the market. for their income they are selling fish at the market and its delicious. you can practice your spanish and learn about the mayan culture. its basically like if you pay for a homestay, but they also leave you your privacy if you just wanna hang out or learn. we loved it and to leave was very hard.
very close to central market and shops. also close to "gringolandia" and restaurants, but far away enough to be quiet at night
only noise at night is from the church service nearby.
toilets and cold showers. sink to wash laundry and dishes.
claro reception bad, tigo reception good.
Report Check-InThe family who runs this place is a gem!!!! We practiced our spanish a lot with the kids, they are very good teachers! We played sports with them, bring them for ice cream treats, went to their church etc. Beautiful immersion with a local family:))))
Price is 150Q for a week. Clean bathroom, cold shower and a sink for dishes. The location is perfect bc it's not to close not to far from the tourists attraction, restaurants and bars. It's way more quiet than the Cafe Chuasinayi and really close to the centro (big mercado for food). Our dog had enough space to run:)))
At the moment, Diego y Reina are the owners but they told us it's only temporary.
Report Check-InFriendly person at the gate, big place to park along with other cars. I guess it’s worth staying here with big rigs with no facilities.
We didn’t stay but went hunting all ard the place ;)
Report Check-InNot very nice but save, just a gravelplace with some tuk tuk and buses parkt all the time.we parkt for 2 weeks hier, and went to the corazanmaya spanish school, just a 7 minute walk.the family how lives on the parkingplace is very nice and a good opportunity to practice spanish.basic toiletts and cold water shower on place.
Report Check-Instill there 30q a night .
not the best view but right in town 150m to lake.
very friendly family
Camping is still possible for 30 Q /night but the conditions are worse than last year. It is serving as a parking lot for buses and tuktuks.
Report Check-InChecked with man working on the property. He said they no longer had camping here. It's worth checking: they have plenty of room for bigger setups, but it may be a bit challenging manuvering narrow streets. It was fine with a Tacoma camper rig.
Report Check-InA better alternative to Cafe Chusiyani, more privacy, and if you are OK without wifi at campsite, plenty of cheap internet cafes in town anyways. Ample space for any size of rig, very low price, we paid for 8 nights 50 Q in total. Grounded electrical plug, cold showers and flush toilets. 24 hr security and gates are open from 6 am -9 pm. Tent camping is possible according to the security guy. A little off from Gringo Avenue, therefore much more quiet at night, yet still very close to town center. Please note that electricity is extra fee.
Report Check-InSorry for the double entry, the previous entry was not classified as a campground. Please read the other entry for this place.
Report Check-InNice parking spot, you could sleep here but the gates are locked at 9pm. Huge gate to fit big rig, $120Q for 7 nights. Sweet couple live on the grounds, they even gave us a complete car wash while we were parked.
