- We camped on the northern tip of Isla Incahuasi, since we wanted to catch the morning sun from the east and have as much as warmth of the setting sun from the west.
- There is probably a nicer spot in the cove around the corner to the west, but it was occupied and it won't have the morning sun. Or even better - move to the island about 15 kms NW from here (whatever it is called, something with fish) - no tours there and plenty of opportunities for camping on the adjacent small islands.
Can also camp closer in to the tip of the island where it might be a lot less windy in the evening.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
You can hide from the wind in the bay. Nice sunset. There's a cat on the island, if you're lucky you get to pet him. The rangers on the island were very friendly. We paid 30 bob to do the little hike but in retrospect probably wouldn't have cause the Isla de Pescado gives you very similar views. No cat though, which is a big plus if you ask me.
Report Check-InNo problem driving out here from Colchani in late September. Everything is dry. We did the hike on the island (dogs allowed) for 30B/person. Only about 30 mins around the loop. Nice views!
Report Check-InUnfortunately i was woke up early morning by someone who looked like a ranger who told me to move to the pic-nic area as it s forbidden to sleep anywhere else close to the island.
Report Check-InNice spot. Bit windy but ok. Millions of stars at night. Beautiful sunset and sunrise.
We camped with a tent. coming from Llica on bicycles.
good spot. wind starts at around 5 and stops around 10. great stars at night. nobody around in the evening, in the morning some people from tours came by. other islands are quieter.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot - north east of incahuasi isla. Sunset and sunrise. Windy until 9.30pm after quiet night.
Report Check-InCamped on the eastern side of the island - windy, so sleep only in the car. Beautiful sunset on the island, but the sunrise is equally, if not more beautiful - it's worth to be on the right side so you see it in the morning. Night sky amazing as well.
A friendly guard from the island arrived after the sunset and wanted to see the tickets from the island, then left.
We found this side to be a lot less windy in the evening. No facilities, free.
