Great campground in an area where very little is offered for an Overland trip. There is also a full RV campground further down the road. ATT 2 bars.

Very nice quiet spot with electricity.
Fire pit is very cozy.
Pulled in late no problem. Only one other camper in park. Left at 8:30 and no ranger to pay and no payment system at the park.
Report Check-InAmazing little quiet state park campground ~5 miles off I-40. Look for campground 1 & 2. Water & Electric sites. No sewer.
The park itself is quite large but easy to find a place to lay your head. We came in late at night and parked it with no issues. Ranger came by in the AM to take CC info. Bathroom/Showers are clean and nice. Camp store at the main entrance
Big lake that allows for fishing and kayaking. They also offer cabin rentals. Great little hidden gem. I stopped in because of this app! Don’t miss out on this spot :) 5G service was fine with T-Mobile so I’m sure you’ll be good with any other. DOGS ALLOWED
Great place, very quiet and off the highway. Off season so nobody here. Ranger came and took cc payment around 8pm from us in our unreserved spot. Hot showers, flushing toilets, lots of huge trees, full hookups
Report Check-Inhardly anyone there, bathrooms clean, nice spot by the lake #22. a little expensive though. paid like 33$
Report Check-InSTOP HERE FOR A NIGHT OR TWO YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!
Even just driving through the park is absolutely stunning
Cub Creek Lake campgrounds are beautiful the lake and nearby trails are very refreshing. Sites are very well maintained and decently separated bathrooms and showers were great didn’t use the hot water as the humidity this time of year is 60-70% but It should work just fine! Definitely bring out the bug spray (lots of pesky gnats) also keep an eye out for fireflies it was my first time seeing them in real life here at this campground!
Report Check-InCampsite #50 Wrangler Campground (for horse camping) was a pull-through space. It was quite uneven with inclines on both sides of slip. $32 for one night, most sites were full by nightfall. Showers on Women's side: overhead heaters turned on and hot water showers. Showers on Men's side: no heaters in winter, water did not get hot. Arrived at 4:30pm and left at 9:30am. Stayed here overnight in overlanding SUV towing a utility trailer.
Report Check-InHad a nice overnight here. Not too many options on i40 in this area. state park forest. $18 would have been even nicer without the rain. But a good quiet location to stay. Arrived after midnight but no problems.
Report Check-Inthere is no free camping here. campground has electric hookups, water, picnic tables, fire pit, and horse tethering poles. 30 usd
Report Check-InCamped on campground 1. Lakeside. Nice spot great baths and showers. Pads are well graveled and level. Very pretty. We used full hookup.
Report Check-InGreat free campground with many sites. Includes fire rings, steel BBQ grills, pavel parking, horse hitches and electric hookups at each site I saw. Well maintained free park. Lots of people in big horse trailers and big RVs towing cars come here. Didn't use the public bathrooms or the dump station. There's a RV campground nearby but that's not where we stayed.
Report Check-InPlusieurs possibilités de camping. Nous étions au Cub lake camping #2. Beau terrain bien aménagé.
Report Check-InThere are three campgrounds in same state park. One is for folks with horses. We stayed with views of lake campground 1. A 5 mile trail starts right next to it that goes around lake - good n easy to trigger appetite. Fire pits and full hook up 29 usd. I think other camp is little more ~ 7-8 $ more so all in all good deal. Toilets are good. There is beach across the lake which is crossed by wooden bridge. Was busy on rememberance Monday afternoon but after the day crowds left it was peaceful.
