Amazing laguna with interesting turquoise color. Don't go after rains.

Nice hike around the Laguna Paron. We need about 2,5 hours oneway. The Laguna Artesoncocha itself is nothing spectacular.

6 hour round trip including breaks. It’s rainy season now so the dry part of the day is 9-3 pm. Pisses rain outside of this. several stream crossed and one river crossing. stream number 3 rises to ankle height in the afternoon so wear waterproof shoes

We wanted to hike to the laguna (25th of April) but it was not possible due to high water of the lake :( After about 45 min hike the trail was flooded about 1m and there was no possibility to hike a detour (despite swimming ;))

Nice little extra hike once you reach the top of the lake. We could not cross the stream at the main point on the track as there was too much water, and a number of rivers but we managed to find crossings upstream.

You can hike here from Laguna Paron, it's about 2.5 hours one way from the refugio, less coming back. Follow the stream up from the head of Laguna Paron. Not as blue as Paron but still gorgeous, with a waterfall coming down from a glacier, and mountains all around. Easy walk with only an 80m altitude gain. No one really seems to come up here!
