Something not right?

Description

Not much to see (2 walks start here, though, which have good views). Good wind cover- depending on wind direction! You can also camp in the nearby Hotel Grey parking lot and pick up their wifi signal.

At the toilet building is a tap. We asked the ranger and we could fill up our water tanks. Because we have filters, I forgot to ask if it is potable.

Quiet, there were only 3 other vehicles with us during the night. Rangers and staff from the cafeteria sleep nearby but won't bother you. Cafeteria has free, albeit weak, wifi.

Report Check-In

Big space, not very wind protected. Clean toilets with drinking water. Sufficient for a night stay before doing the hike. It does get very busy during the day.

It does get very busy during the day.

Report Check-In

Sleeping in your campervan is allowed on this big parking. Next to the toilets there are two places with less wind due to trees.

Report Check-In

We slept here one night, our first night in the park.
The place is not amazing but there is toilets (opened h24) and if you park next to the rangers you can maybe get the starlink opened wifi.
There were 2/3 other campers in the parking lot.

The car park is also the start of hikes, we did :
Mirador Glaciar Grey : we did not see iceberg on the lake.
Mirador Ferrier : beautiful windy hike but you have to register to the ranger station before going because it’s marked difficult

1 of 2 official places that you can camp for free in the park. Only 4 vans in the lot but if you don’t get the 2 sheltered spots(next to bathrooms) then you’re in for a lot of wind. The bathrooms are 24 hours. Unless you happen to get 1 of the 2 spots, I’d recommend staying at the Administration center 20 mins back toward the entrance

Report Check-In

We spent a quiet and free night there. A lot of wind anyway

Nous y avons passé une nuit calme et gratuite. Beaucoup de vent quand même

Report Check-In

Good place to camp before or after the Mirador Ferrier and Mirador Grey hikes. Both places are extremely windy which is loads of fun, but can also be a serious danger. Ferrier is even closed after noon because you'd simply be blown off the top. Wind was not so bad at the campsite, though!

Report Check-In

Large parking lot at the start to the viewpoint on the lake and the Gray Glacier. You can park there at night if you have a converted vehicle. Many tourists during very quiet day at night. There is a small supermarket but it mainly sells cakes and souvenirs. There is also a restaurant. It's quite expensive 12990 pesos for a burger and fries. WiFi is charged at 8000 pesos per hour.

good Site for a night in a campervan only one other Car. but mirrador was closed because of high Water and strong Wind. No information about that at the Café entrance but later in the way a very angry Ranger Lady...

Report Check-In

Stayed here for a night, we were the only van. was fine. Mini mart back open selling machine coffee, snacks and soft drinks. Toilets were good, and there is a socket on the wall just outside the toilet for charging devices, but you will have to stay with them.

Report Check-In

Still possible to stay, cafeteria and minimarkt are open now. Some wind protection and a lot of space. The walk to the lookout is closed in the evening, the long hike Zapata is only allowed with a guide.

Report Check-In

Overnight camping in a van is allowed only for one night. Toilets accesible all night, minimarket is still closed.

Report Check-In

From the parking there's no nice view around, but it's a convenient spot to stay overnight (we did not). Toilets open all night. The "minimarket" is closed at the moment (covid time). From there you can go to the Lago Grey Mirador to see the glacier and its icebergs. There's also another hike to Ferrier Mirador.

Report Check-In

Free, we stayed one night, perfect. At the toilet building is a tap. We asked the ranger and we could fill up our water tanks. Because we have filters, I forgot to ask if it is potable.

Report Check-In

Still ok to camp here overnight. It's also the start of 2 good mini-treks, we did both in a day. Mirador Ferrier is 750m ascent, about 3km long, with great views of the mountains, lakes and glacier (it took about 3 hours all in all, 4hrs was advertised). The second is a flat, more popular walk along the beach to Lago Grey to see the lake, mountains, and mini ice bergs, about an hour.

Report Check-In

Nothing spectecular as it is just a parking lot, but good place to get started early next day ;-)

Report Check-In

Just a parking lot with no wind protection, we parked our Camper there and there was really really really crazy wind going on the whole night, we thought more than once that the Camper would tip over. So definitely not recommended a windy days.

Crazy windy cycle to get here. Cyclists be warned that all the mentions of camping refer to motorhome parking, it is prohibited to camp here. Also the hike to campamento pingo is with a guide only.

Nice clean toilets with soap. Tiny shop with very expensive crisps, biscuits, chocolate and drinks.

Had bread, steak, egg and chips in the restaurant for 9,500CHP

Free WiFi connects but not working.

Report Check-In

Still allowed to stay overnight. Very busy during day, but quiet in the night. Not for tents!

We entered the park in the north east (entrance Sarmiento), walked to the Cuernos lookout, the condor lookout and we will stay here for the night to do the Grey Glaciar walking trail in the morning.

Not much shelter for the wind, but toilets open all night. There's a building site next to the parking so you might wake up from loud music and construction sounds.
