Arrived on Sunday 1 pm. Site was very full, but got one of the last places for our Landcruiser. In the evening was the site empty. Very friendly stuff. 15 minutes walk to the city center. Very good site.

Report Check-In

Very good place to visit Morelia, very close to the center. Very clean bathrooms. Ismael is a super kind person. He told us that in this season, he could not admit anyone during the day, only to spend the night after 6:00 p.m.

Muy buen sitio para visitar Morelia, muy cerca del centro. Baños muy limpios. Ismael es una persona super amable. Nos comento que en esta temporada, no podia admitir a nadie durante el dia, solo para pasar la noche a partir de las 18:00 horas.

Very much open. However nothing larger than a van will fit. He looked at our 21 foot Promaster (6,5m Ducato) and scratched his chin thoughtfully and then put us well in the back. This place is basically a dry campground! Working bathrooms included and located in a busy interesting neighborhood. Opens at 7am and closes at 9:45 pm. 90 pesos to park overnight. The entrance is four meters tall and the turn in is easier if you approach from Avenida Juaréz so you get a wide turn into the narrow entrance.

Report Check-In

I stopped by to see if this place was back in business and it is. I talked with the owner and you can park here overnight for 60 pesos (6pm-6am). There is another tariff for day parking. The bathrooms are clean. No more construction on the street but it is a busy street so it was noisy in the afternoon. Just a short stroll from the centro.

Report Check-In

The gate was closed as we arrived. The lady next door did not know if or when this place will open again.

Report Check-In

They are currently doing construction on the road in front of this parking lot so there is no way to get to it. Not sure how much longer before the construction is done.

Report Check-In

Morelia is a lovely colonial city not to be missed. Although this campground is a parking lot it is surprisingly pleasant. Ishmael is welcoming as are the other staff and they keep the toilets spotless. Fabulous location a short walk to the historic centre. Very cool sights and plenty of good restaurants. Don’t miss Morelia!

Report Check-In

Stayed one calm night at the very full but perfect organized parking lot; had a very friendly welcome with good informations for the city; we paid 115Pesos for the day/ night; a very safe place with clean restrooms;we also had a awesome and fairly priced lunch in the nearby restaurant "Casa Del Abuelo" ..Calle Abasalo....just 10Min. from San Jeronimo..it's marked in IOVERLANDER!! great food and very friendly and helpful owners---> we highly recommend this place also!!

Report Check-In

Very convenient location, peaceful at night and spotlessly clean toilets with TP (no showers). For anyone worried about the comments below about 'squeezing in' the gate, we are 6m x 2.2m x 3.3m and had no problems at all - we drove straight in. TIP FOR LARGER RIGS: approach from the west so that you turn left into the gate. This will give you a much wider turning space across the street to line-up with the gate. It's a busy street, so you might need to dodge the traffic, but it is certainly accessible for larger rigs like ours. Maybe the very largest big-rigs with big turning radius might struggle. 70 pesos for a day, PLUS 45 pesos overnight =115 pesos for 24 hrs stay.

Estacionamiento perfecto y céntrico para visitar Morelia.

Report Check-In

if you arrive on a sunday very very busy because of the nearby market. Toplocation to visit the old town.

Report Check-In

As described. We got in with our pick up camper no problem. It is a bust parking lot but they will shuffle cars to find a spot for you. Nice bathrooms. Wonderful for exploring centro

Report Check-In

All as described and Ismael was as gracious and welcoming as always. We stayed over the 6 January holiday and he even gave us and our 2 children presents. Of note, to anyone wondering what 'small rig' means... we're in a LWB (170) Sprinter van and we only just made it in. The entrance was extremely difficult to squeeze through and Ismael had people out stopping traffic for us. You need nerves of steel to attempt it in anything this size! But it was so worth it to be close to the centre of beautiful Morelia. This is still a ridiculously cheap to park so please tip generously...

Report Check-In

Fantastic place. Close to town, quiet & with very clean toilets.

We also got the toasties, coffee & juice treatment in the morning which makes the 70peso price a farce (bargain).

Ismael is very friendly offering tips & insisted we left with a huge pile of avocados (for free).

Perfect place to explore the beautiful city of Morelia.

This place may be run by the nicest human being in this planet. Ismael welcomed us with smiles and happiness. He spoke very clear, very slow Spanish so that we could understand him. He recommended places for us to visit and every morning brought us something to eat or drink. The bathrooms were immaculate. I have no idea how he made a profit from us as he only charged us $70 pesos for a day and night and the food and drinks he brought must have nearly amounted to that. We tipped him. If you’re in Morelia (which you should be, it’s a wonderful city) definitely stay here if you’re not too big.
Lu’s restaurant at Casino Hotel was amazing if you want to treat yourself.

Report Check-In

Great spot as described; just a few minutes walk to the historic centre and some great bars.

Ismael and his staff are really helpful and friendly. In the morning he saw we were already making coffee by the truck, but he still came back with toasted sandwiches and fresh juice for us. As this place is only a parking lot, breakfast is obviously not included, so it’s a really nice gesture towards Overlanders.

Toilets are very clean.

Suitable for small rigs as others have mentioned.

We were charged MX70 for one overnight stay, but decided to pay a few extra pesos as we were so happy with the experience.

Best option for overlanders in Morelia.

Report Check-In

The currently price is MXN 70 during the day and MXN 45 during the night but If you want both, will pay MXN 100. However worth stay here as write on the previous comments. Ismael is very friendly and helpful. He help us to find a dentist when we stayed there.

Report Check-In

First wanted to stay at a hostel because of lousy weather but since they only had street parking, went to Ismael instead which was a great decision. All the previous comments are true. Brought us coffee and liquor when we were hiding from the rain in our van. Brought us chairs and sandwiches and juice in the morning. Gave us local tips and a humongous bag of oranges when we left. 70p per night (would not accept tip). You won't find a kinder/better place to camp in any city.

Ismael is so wonderful! We was like home here. There is really clean toilets. The night was so calm, we slept well. It's just 5 minutes walk to the cathedral (centro historico). Ismael is so happy to meet and receive people, he give us fruits and coffee in the morning. He wants to improve his place in the next months, like adding showers..
