Description

Parking area just behind and below the monument. Not secure, but out of sight of the road. One entrance has a closed fence, the other is sided by a house. Nobody asked me for parking fees when I entered. Not quite level.
No facilities, but toilets are at the restaurant at foot of the monument.
The first photo is of the parking area, the second looks up from the area.

After driving 13000 km this road (to and from this carpark), an alternative for road 25, tops my favourite roads. Even though agriculture has changed the original landscape. A windy second gear road all the way up, along the ridge and back down again. Along the ridge great views of the valleys both sides with different shades of green from the pasture fields, coffee and banana trees, other fruit trees broken by colourfull flowers. You can tell that the land owners are doing well by the well maintained good looking houses. Most of which are nicely set in the landscape. To me the road is worth 5 stars. A well paved narrow two lane road.

Quiet town...safe. Beautiful drive up here and a nice stop for the night. A lot of hills so this is probably the best place to stay a night.

the views are great. worth taking this route, even without staying overnight.
