We went to see Nathan because our Hilux had ignition issues since we had a few river crossing in Botswana NP. Nathan took care of us right away. He took down the starter and replaced the connectors with new ones. Took him 4h, as the starter on Hilux is really not easily accessible. We paid 1800 P / 120€ for that (no place for negotiation) wich seems first quite overpriced to me. He explained that mechanic hourly rates in BSW is 350P, something we couldnt really check easily, as we havnt visited other garages in BSW and Google was useless. Also people on Ioverlander almost never share how much they pay at garages (even if its such an important info !) so we couldnt compare...

However, Nathan seems to know what he is doing and our car was fine after his work. Hope we won't regret saying that but we do recommend him.

Update : after talking to a few locals, 350P / h appears to be a legit rate for mechanics in Botswana. Not sure its justified as he made in 4 hours what most locals barely make in 1 month... That's what it is.

Ken and his team did a great job in tightening our V belts. Phone him on +267 74 951 295 to make sure he is there/book ones vehicle in as he may be out.

Also good if having problems with small trucks. He helped us very quick with our (hand)brake problems. Good price.

A highly experienced mechanic who absolutely knows his stuff. His auto-electrician, Nathan, fixed our stubborn, intermittent starter issue and Ken fixed our handbrake and provided a huge amount of advice on a range of other matters. He is the guy in Kasane who takes care of Avis’ fleet of 4x4s so he’s the guy to see if you have issues are your vehicle.

For electric problems ask for Nathan. He solved my alternator problems . He knows his work very wel.

Absolutely, Ken is the only person you need to go see. He sorted a brake issue for us and imparted a wealth of knowledge about a few bits and pieces on our Land Rover. He had us back on the road in an hour and a half for only 560 Pula. Best mechanic we've encountered and we've now encountered a few.

If you need a repair around Kasane, Ken is your man. He replaced our broken leaf spring for around 100 euros.
