Latest Check-Ins

We were parked maybe 2 hours before we got a ticket and the very polite policeman said we had to leave. He said they were enforcing parking in the entire Mission Bay Area.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for three nights in a row without moving our skoolie. Quiet and a lot of spots.

Report Check-In

Update: After a week of solid camping people finally got tickets. Although it was only the big RV’s and people with sprinters/vans got away without one. ($112 for the ticket)

Old: As stated before it’s a gamble if you get a ticket. Currently between 10-20 vans/campers/RV’s here so doesn’t seem like tickets happen often. Showers/toilets/water is a little bit of a walk to get to.

Report Check-In

Good places, no problems here. A lot of other campers.

Report Check-In

Has been recommended this place by a couple friends. Super quiet that night, slept very well!

Report Check-In

Stayed here again after our stay last year. Few people live here more than a night but they Where friendly and don’t bottered others.

Report Check-In

Great spot, very beautiful and centrally located, great for exploring San Diego and spend time at the beach. There are some people that seem to be here long time and it can get quite noisy, especially on weekends.

Report Check-In

awesome location - water on both sides where you camp - calm & relaxing to swim in. We spent several nights last week here and then came back Tuesday - unfortunately a police officer showed up today and said they would be ticketing tonight - so while it is an AMAZING spot - I think that during the summer perhaps they tighten up on tickets?

Half star off for the rubbish people left - spent some time picking it up around our area.

Best place in town! Sea view. Beach. Toilets are 200meters away. We stayed with 15 other campers, RVs and Vans. Quiet, free place. Be sure you park on the sand so you should be fine. I would definitely stay here again.

Report Check-In

Toilets:
Positive that it is cleaned every day and soap and toilet paper is provided. But no lights at night and you might share with homeless.

People around are sketchy but harmless and friendly.

Night wasn’t really quiet and make sure you do not park close to a fire place.

It seems to be semi-legal. There are campers every night and I am sure police knows but doesn’t fine every night.

In fact, we got a 52 USD ticket. So we went to another place for the next night.
Wouldn’t recommend it.

saturday/sunday 03/24/2018
we stopped here for the night, arriving before 22:00.
we have looked at both, the park and the sandy rv spot at the end and opted for the parking spot about 100 meters from the bathroom/showers.
on the other spot there was lots of partying going on, this might be usual for the weekend.
we saw police cruise by in the morning.
all in all great clean place with water and bathroom, though men’s stalls are missing doors.
woman’s bathroom was co-inhabited by a homeless guy but i went with my girlfriend in there to wash our dishes and this might have annoyed him enough to move out of there.

Report Check-In

We stayed here in and off for a few nights. Last Friday we had to leave at 11:00pm due to kids starting a fire and partying next to us. It’s an ok spot, it’s free, nice view. It can get really windy and you’ll need to hose down your rig after staying due to sand and salt. Weekends can be a bit noisy and the local characters can be a bit sketchy but harmless otherwise I’d have given it 4 stars. Likely the most popular and ‘authorities turn a blind eye’ free camp spot in San Diego.

Report Check-In

As described. Great place to stay in San Diego for free.

Report Check-In

Stayed one night. Lot of space. No problems. Clean restrooms.

Report Check-In

Very nice spot! Calm on weekdays but a little less the weekend if someone comes to party. We stayed here 4 nights without problem. The police come in every morning to see if everything is ok. We recommend this place to stay in San Diego.

Report Check-In

We were here 3 nights. Close to the beach and toilets and cold showers in the park behind. Police come to give a fine to people in a tent. He said overnight in rv for 3 days is ok aslong there are not to much rv’s as 20. He works from 8am -3pm so better before 8pm parking in the park. Allowed from 4am-22 Pm

Report Check-In

we were first scared by the sign that says no parking and another that says no overnighting but kept driving and found the sand with RVs and vans and talked to a couple of them that said up to 3 days is fine and then leave for a night. everyone was quiet, there are firepits and trash cans. a bathroom with running water and a shower in the park a few hundred meters away.
