Not the most organized campground, no specific campsites and you just had to find a free area. Water and power points around in the campground, but not enough power points to everyone. Nice toilet and shower block with hot water. A small kitchen to cook and do dishes. Restaurant and a small shop at the reception. There was also a water hole with a shelter where you could sit and watch the animals at the campsite. 136 rand (we were four people sharing a site)
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Very tired feeling campsite, ablutions need a good make over, all feels old and dirty. Nice waterhole though. Showers hot. MTN and Vodacom on the campsite. Lacking a few power points. Monkeys a nuisance.
Report Check-InCampsites are not demarcated, powerpoints are few and far apart. Ablutions are old and DIRTY. A nice waterhole next to the fence, the only positive in my view. A camp I will avoid in future.
Report Check-InNice and quiet campsite. We saw a herd of elephants at the waterhole in the evening.
A walking trail is in the camp.
Reception, restaurant and shop - all in one small building :-)
See DG OVERLANDING on YouTube.
Nice Campsite.
Power
Plenty of shade.
Good ablutions.
Mostly level.
Nice basic campsite in the more quite part of the park. Some nice routes around it as well. Our first stop visiting Kruger North to South. We bought braaimeat in the shop with pretty good quality.
Report Check-InBig campsite facing waterhole. No site allocations so you choose a spot when you arrive. If you lucky you can find one facing the waterhole. Not a lot of power points so make sure you bring a long extension cord (10 meter+). Ablutions are clean but can be far to walk for some sites. Small ablution near waterhole only has one shower, not sufficient when camp is busy. Nice hide overlooking a very busy waterhole. Saw hundreds of elephants and buffalo drink water during our 3 night stay. Laundry with one washing machine and one dryer (R10 a wash, R5 dry) . Overall nice atmosphere and enjoyed our stay.
Report Check-InVery nice vibe. Friendly staff. We travelled all the way through Kruger from the south and this was our last and favourite one. A small gem. Also lots of antilopes and zebras in loop around the rest camp.
Report Check-Innice waterhole to see animals: elephants for the sunset! braai, hot shower, swimming pool,laundry,kitchen... 268 per site in september.
Report Check-InFor me this was the best campsite in Kruger although of course still way too expensive at 305 rand per site. Campground is quite confusing and there are far too little power outlets and almost no water taps beside the kitchen areas.
The ablutions are okay. The waterhole is nice. There was an elephant when I arrived.
Restaurant is small but nice. Decent food, decent prices.
Despite the crowds I was able to find a quiet spot to camp. Laundromat is great. An enormous load costs 8 rand washing and 5 rand drying. Each cycle takes about 45 minutes.
Camp as described, quiet, lots of elefants St waterhole. Now 237 R per site with two people, additional person 82R, children under 12 half price.
Report Check-Inwe liked this site, yes 'basic' compared to the sites further south in the park.
It's a large site with lots of space and shade, a small 'rustic' swimming pool.
We visited beginning of December and only 3 other vehicles so very quiet and 'exclusive' feeling.
floodlit waterhole is 20 metres from the low fence, we camped right by this fence and were fortunate to watch over 20 elephants during the night from the comfort of our bed ! perfect.
all the usual facilities for a kruger campsite were working and perfectly acceptable standards.
it's a good one.
Large, busy site. Short walking trail near campsite.
