Really nice. They have no first come first serve options anymore, but every morning around 10am the NPS brings an update to the host of there were any cancellations. Could be worth a try is you are desperate. I also highly recommend talking to the host about wildlife watching. He knows where carcasses are that attract wolves etc. Little bit of reception with T-mobile, at least enough to watch a yellowstone documentary on YouTube.

This campground is not closed! Very nice! USD20 per night with fire ring, picnic table and pit toilet. This campground is at the Yellowstone area with usually more wolfs (Lamar Valley).

Was the first in line here at 0530 today. By 6am there were 8 cars behind me. All lined up for three available spots. Nice location, good fishing, and close to the valley for morning wildlife watching. $15/night and some cell service.

We arrived at around 5pm one night & all spots were taken. The hosts kindly let us know that camp registration opens at 6.30am and to come back around 6am the next morning but again, they couldn’t be sure if we would get a spot! (Because the camp is so popular in high season) I can totally understand why, the camp is beautiful. We arrived the next day at 6am and they had 4 spots available, we were the 3rd in line when we arrived! We stayed for two nights but you’re able to extend, you’ve just got to give them notice. You’re right by the river and the camp is quiet, worth making the effort to stay here!

Best campground in the park. In one morning bike till the main road I saw several animals around. Bison, antelopes, wolf (far away with a binocular), osprey and a badger.

Best primitive camp sites in all of the park, out of the way for the hustle and bustle of the park. Check the board to see when others are checking out. If you miss out on a spot, stay the night in the dirt parking lot about .5 miles away , and be prepared to get up early to make sure you can get a spot the next day .
Pit Toilet, take a bath in the beautiful Slough Creek :)

$ 15.- per site. Hard to put a car level in most sites. We have seen far bettet spots in the US.
