Very nice private campsites in the middle of the bush. 250 pula per person they gave us fire wood and there are flush toilets and bucket showers
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Camelthorn # 2. Beatuful campsite, well secluded from any other. Tweespoor can be tricky with deep sand. First bundle firewood complimentary. Average ablution with donkie shower if you so wish.P385 +P10 pppn makes it quite expensive.
Report Check-InVery lovely place. Staff is very nice and reception area looks new and modern. Very refreshing after staying in Khwai. There is wifi in the lounge however you need to drive back and forth from your campsite to use the wifi. They don’t allow walking over the property because of elephants. Also keep in mind, the campsites are a few km’s away from reception through a deep sand track, not ideal.. Campsites itself are nice with private ablutions. No hot water but they provide firewood and a kettle so you can prepare your own hot shower in the shower bags. 335 pula pp.
Report Check-InWhat a beautiful creation! A tented lodge around a beautifully set waterhole with some private campsites around it. We camped here for 4 nights and had a brilliant time. The managers Johann and Jolanda plus their staff looked after us while we enjoyed the solitude and wildlife at the campsite plus the pool and lodge facilities too! Johann was even to help us in rewelding some broken brackets on our 10t truck. Thanks team Mankwe!!!
Elephants and hyenas visited our camp more then once, and kudu, impala and steenbok hung around too. What a great spot!
we had a really nice stay at Mankwe campsite. campers can use the beautiful and new pool, bar and wifi-louge facilities that are at the reception area. there is also a waterhole which you can see from the pool. campground is a bit away with nice abolutions and running water at the sites. 310 pula pppn.
Report Check-InOverpriced for what you get. BWP 300 pppn & BWP 225 per child from 2 years old. There is a "bed levy" of BWP 10 pp on top.
Very basic facilities. Cold water and no electricity. You are totally in the wild though.
the lodge is open again, beautiful grounds. The campsite is 2 km from the lodge. It's a proper bush camo with lots of wildlife. Abulution are very clean and firewood is provided.
Pool, bar and longue can also be used by campers.
the management, Yolandi, Johan and Allan are very concerned about their guests and welcome everyone personally and very warmly. The price pp is 300 Pula but definitely worth it.
This is a must stay place! Since the last entry the whole lodge alga’s been update and it is being run by the most wonderful couple who made us feel so welcome. The lodge is gorgeous and the pool and bar areas are stunning. Great waterhole view from the lodge. The campsites are all large with shade and private ablutions. Cold showers on tap and bucket shower that you can heat up in the sun during the day. No electricity at sites but the seclusion and surrounds are second to none. Plenty of game around as it is in one of the lager concessions between Moremi and Savuti. No need to go to Moremi even as there are great opportunities around here and Kwai. The Manager Johann is really helpful with regard to surrounding area. Highlight for us was sitting around our campfire when a young kudu sprinted through being chased by a pack of wild dogs!! Awesome place. Don’t miss it !
Report Check-InVery dry at present so not many animals, we heard lion and hyena at night and saw a few elephant. We stayed on Camelthorn 3, it’s 2km or so from the lodge which is still non-existent. Access to lodge sandy, access from lodge to campground deep sand in places, we need some assistance with 2.2t caravan. Check out Leadwood Pan, it still had water. B mobile E coverage.
Report Check-InBeautiful campsite, off set up as the lodge is non existent and there is no pool at the moment. But the camping pitches are right in the bush with your own flush toilet and shower. It’s a great place to stay! It cost 250pula pp but worth it!
NB only salt water from taps and no where to buy water so make sure you have enough for your stay.
Report Check-InNice big private campsite in the bush, elephants as guests just a meter away! They have 6 sites. Ablutions bit rustic for this price (250pp). The lodge is under reservation at the moment, building things up from the ground. But at the campsite you don’t notice this at all. Firewood provided.
Report Check-InNice campsite with very helpful manager ('GG') who provided lots of useful local knowledge. At the lodge you can use the bar and a small but clean pool. The campsite is a drive away from here though, so not easy to go back and forth if you've set up your roof tent!
Pitches lovely and private in shade, each with flushing toilet, wash basin and bucket shower. Plenty of clean (but salty) water provided, as well as firewood.
Elephant, impala and kudu visited by day, hyena and honey badger at night.
Still 250 pula pppn, making it one of the better value options in the area - although you are still about an hour's drive from Moremi's North Gate.
nice place with clean, separate ablutions for each of the camelthorn sites. P250pppn
Report Check-InA nice place really in the bush. Very large area with lots of animals around, we heard the lions at night and saw some elefants in the morning. Payed 250 Pula pp, which is quite high, but you dont get it cheaper here
Report Check-InNice campsite. Very quiet. We had the camelthorn sites with private bucketshower, flush toilet and sink. BP 250 pppn. They sell cold beer.
