We got here late in the evening and stay one night the next morning a lady ask us to move and told us they need the parking for the church and for the restaurants had breakfast and left around noon.

Report Check-In

We stood here for one night and wanted to stay a second night. Late in the afternoon of the second day, a very unfriendly man came and made sure that we and three other motorhomes had to leave the site because it is supposedly a church car park or we should pay for nothing but a parking space. We were very disappointed by the enormous unfriendliness! We were then able to stay overnight at the Luba Laruga site and were given a very friendly welcome.

Report Check-In

we stood here for two nights. it's a public death end road. stay on the right side of the road (football field) and no one can object.

And that's what happened to us, nobody asked us.

Same as the previous comment. We arrived in the afternoon and a man came to us very unfriendly to tell us we couldn’t stay there as it was a private parking. The woman in front (same woman as the other comment) calm him down and explain to us we have to give a donation to the church as it was their parking lot. We totally agreed and try to explain to him that we were sorry and he should put a private sign like that the people won’t come.
At the end we didn’t stay there and went to luba laruga point where we were very welcome.
4G smart!

We arrived here on a Saturday pm. There were kiosks at the park and inflatable games. It was great to meet people and buy their local products. We asked the lady in front of the parking lot, behind the white fence, if we could spend the night there. She says no problem, just donate to the church. Perfect for us. We offer her $5 and she laughs at us telling us that people usually give $150 blz! Surprised, we go back to our van. By chatting with the locals at the kiosks, we are told that it is rubbish and not to pay for it. Even the mayor of the village informs us that it's a public place, so no problem. So we decide to spend the night there (we were 3vr). Super quiet, we felt very safe. We left around 11:30 the next morning with no problems. Apart from this lady, the village is very welcoming and pretty!

Stayed 2 nights, the first night the policeman came and ask us how many nights we gonna stay and we have to close the door because of the curfew (during covid time it's midnight).Ppl in the morning in the day and Saturday a small market take place in the football field. very friendly ppl.Tina's place was close so we ate at siomara in the street (they have wifi too). really nice place.

Stayed for about 10 days, loved hanging out in Hopkins. Had no issues at all! Met one overlanding couple who stayed for a couple nights - plenty of space for everyone. The wind was strong the whole time, great for heat and keeping the bugs to a minimum

Btw looks like Tina’s was closed, no sign of anyone the whole time I was there

Report Check-In

Nice spot by the beach and football pitch. Nearby restaurant can sometimes be noisy at night. We stayed 3 nights. Nowhere better in Hopkins.

Report Check-In

Great spot to spend the night. We stayed two nights with our two dogs. We were awoken at 4 am the first night by a group of people singing and dancing, it was scary at first as we didn't know what was happening but it turned out to be a party celebrating the independence of Belize. Sargassum everywhere, we were unfortunately unable to bathe in the sea. Ate at Tina's. Like previously mentioned, support the locals. This area looks like it is slowly dying due to the sargassum bloom.

we stayed here next to the beach for a night. some locals that we met at the river suggested we stay here and see hopkins, on thursday nights they have community drum circles. It was nice. very windy but no bugs thanks to the wind. It was also alot cooler at night. This was a great location felt very safe in the middle of town. And in the morning go have breakfast at Tinas. Support the locals.

We stayed here for 2 nights, was absolutely fine besides sandflies & too much wind. Super friendly owners in both restaurants (Tinas & Peers). Tinas even left their bathroom open for us overnight. Its also one of the cheapest places in town btw. Peer is a very nice German, restaurant more on the pricey side, but very very good food. He let us stay next to his place the second night as we had to hide from strong winds so we had dinner there.

Report Check-In

Pretty much a parking lot next to the campo. Be sure to ask the adjacent restaurant owners if they mind parking overnight.

Had 1 weird incident at night when a local knocked on the camper door and wanted to sell us drugs. Asked if our dogs bite and we said yes. He quickly went away

Stayed 1 night but there are some other places around Hopkins to stay.

Report Check-In
