Something not right?

Description

There are no campsites in this town but with its status of being one of the Pueblos Magicos, this will mean others may be looking to visit and along with that, searching for a campsite.

At various places within Google, this is listed as a "Mobile Home Park". It is not. It is a regular but small parking lot. The owner resides at De La Libertad, house #9 around the corner from the lot. The lot is a corner lot (Del Santuario @ De La Libertad) right in the center area of the downtown. What is available here appears to be about enough room for maybe 6-8 rigs of under 24’ each.

Locating the owner, Bernado Lopez was a tedious but pleasant experience. He currently has the lot partitioned as simply a parking lot but he would be very receptive to allowing RVs there for overnight or extended camping. He quoted $100 pesos per night as his rate.

There are no facilities at all other than the fencing and gates around the property - no electric, no water, no sewer but he does have location, location, location while being only three blocks from the city center. There are two gates securing the lot which he locks each evening outside of his operating hours of 8AM-5PM. He speaks a little English, enough to be able to communicate if you will speak slowly and not use abnormal wording.

What he said was, he’d be happy to give any camper the key to one gate to drop at his door when you are leaving or he would share the combo to the other gate if you need to come in our out during his off-duty hours.

Latest Check-Ins

As previously stated, it's just a dusty little parking lot in a corner of 2 quite busy streets, on weekends at least. The owner and his son are amazing. Felt very safe, just as noisy as a gas station. Stayed 2 nights

We meet Bernardo and his family. He even invited us to his birthday and we ate pozole a typical Mexican food. They are very familiar. We are from Costa Rica so, MX is home for us.
The town is really enjoyable many shops to wonder around and a pretty decent market with lots of fresh vegetables. Close to Jerez you can visit the Sierra de Cardos. The city is really clean and tidy. The price for RV's has come up a little. Is M$200
