After sept 20th no entrance fees. Guess they have moved the date. But also no bears now and fish are mostly dead. Still a nice little boardwalk and its really stinky because of the dead fish

Nice boardwalk to view the spawning salmon. Hoping to get some great pics of bears!

Awesome!! Opens as 6am, but I don't know if that's Alaska Time or Pacific Time. Hyder unofficially observes Pacific time even though technically they're supposed to be Alaska Time. Entrance fee is $6 so make sure to register when you're within cell coverage (in Stewert). This place has Wi-Fi but it was down when I was there. So there was no way to pay the fee without going back into town. ...Bears come & go. The ranger will tell you the current status.

We came and saw a Grizzly hunting for Salmon, GREAT EXPERIENCE.

A creek, fed by very clear spring water, where salmon spawn. The creek is full of fish in various states (from strong and spawning to dead and decaying). A young male grizzly, seemingly unaware of all spectators, spent an hour finding and catching a fresh, strong salmon and devoured the whole fish while we were safely watching from a boardwalk at 10 meters (30 feet) distance.

Tickets no longer available on site. Paid 5+1 USD on https://rec.gov per person per day. WiFi at the library, Canadian cell signal on the boat dock in Hyder. (Or use the visitors center in Steward. Don't forget to fill out your ArriveCAN as well.)

Fish Creek, popular bear viewing spot during salmon spawning season. Seems to have just enough parking. You need to buy day or multi day passes online at recreation.gov to enter (search for Fish Creek).

Best spot to see bears while catching and eating salmon! We saw four grizzly bears at the same time in the evening.
