Something not right?

Description

wonderful place for staying very close to Bogota. you can walk to la candelaria 50 min. John Patrick is a great host and will do everything to help you. he also offers climbing tours, trekking and there are zip lines on the property. road to get here is a bit rough but doable without 4x4. space for large rigs. 15 COP person.

Update on roads March 2019: 4x4 definitely required

Latest Check-Ins

Small place in the hills around Bogota. Last part of the road is difficult but doable. Place for 2 or 3 campers. No big vehicles. Water supply is not guaranteed. Calm. 30k per night for 2. Friendly welcome.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for one night. John is very nice, speaks English and German. The last bit to the Finca is rough, maybe needs 4x4, our camper Van is 4x4 and managed it well.
Toilet and cold showers.
Expensive (160.000 for 3 and dog) but other options close to Bogota are limited.

Report Check-In

John seems like a nice guy but charged our family of 4 (kids only 7 and 10) 70,000 for 1 night in our small camper and there was no water at his place so no toilets, showers or refill. No electricity either. If we knew before we arrived there's no way we'd have come here. Other options are limited in Bogota though but I'm sure there's better than this.

We called first and he wanted to charge more than stated but when we told them the price shown here, he agreed. Last 2.2 km has rough sections but no need for 4x4 but high clearance may be needed in a couple of spots. Be aware there is a toll on the main road; it was 8900 when we went thru but free coming back down. Sundays are crazy with cyclists! There is no wifi but Tigo reception was okay. Bano has seat but no TP. We got power using our long extension cord. Cecilia told us there is a trail to the city that takes about an hour but said it's dangerous in the morning as police are not out until noon. We walked down the road we drove up on, caught a ride to main road and took a bus into city. It's hard to get a cab to take you back. Wouldn't say it's close enough to city to use as base unless you want to drive back and forth yourself but then you have to park but it is super quiet. There are two dogs on property but weren't noisy at night.
