Description

Very nice spot over looking the Leba pass. This restaurant and hospedaria has camping facilities and some rooms. It is run by a friendly family, they will cook your dinner and breakfast if you want.
They charge 5000 Kwanza p/p per room.
Highly recommend it.

Camping is free but we used the restaurant in return.

We had a really calm night here. Sure, the little kids from the restaurant came round in the evening and were a bit curious. But it wasn't too bad, they were cute and the parents made sure they didn't get too pushy. We drank beer in the restaurant and were then invited into the garden by the owner. We actually wanted to eat there too, but somehow the restaurant seemed closed? Nobody was there in the evening after sunset, so we made ourselves a quick meal. Nobody was begging - there were only people begging at the viewpoint (in front of the restaurant). All good :)

the overnight stay was ok (we should sleep in the backyard of the restaurant). but there was one kid from another place begging in the evening and early in the morning (hanging around our car when we parked outside of the backyard again).
a plate (chicken & fries) is now 5000 kwz and the chicken was not really good.

Super price for the amount of food that you get. And you still get to go the view point by night! 😍

The restaurant staff advised us to sleep behind their fence.
They asked nothing in return.
We could enjoy the sunset !

Super friendly family who let us camp here. You can definitely do a short visit but we spent all afternoon and got the most amazing sunset over the mountains. Stunning. They now ask you eat at the restaurant and then you can camp for free.

The meal is huge! We paid a little over 7000kwz for two meals and 3 beers. Totally fair.

No English.

Beware of the geese and turkey…they chase you 😆

Very nice place and with amazing view on the mountains. They alow us to stay in their backyard for free. They do not ask to eat at their restaurant but we did it anyway. Was very good and affordable. 3500kwz roasted chicken with homemade fresh fries. 500 kwz the beer. Was very good.
They let us use the bathroom in the employee house. Was very clean.
The owners are very nice. They speak only Portuguese.

We ask for sleeping here and they offer us for free to camp behind the restaurant. They open for us the toilet and shower.
We had dinner there in exchange of the free camping, the food was really good and not expensive (6/7€ per person).

Friendly family. You can use the shared bathroom from the hospedaria. The family’s kids wake up early though!

Jane (pron Ja-nes) at the restaurant immediately understood I wanted vegetarian food and was exceptionally helpful. I was also offered free camping, which turned into a free room when I tried to pitch my tent later. Super sweet family. Definitely the place to rest as QUIET. No noise from anyone/thing. Amazing. Cycled the 25km downhill pass in the morning. Epic.

All of the reviews are spot on; this family are very friendly and welcoming. Thank you to Nando and Jani for being so kind - your freshly homemade chips were just what we needed! You can camp for free, they provide you a toilet and shower. In return we drank some beers and ate their yummy chips! Stunning location over looking the gorge and epic windy road with the most wonderful people, we highly recommend this experience.

friendly family make you feel at home . They live simply so offer simple food . Rooms were 6000 each but good as the wind came up . Great to stopover to get sunset shots of the pass . If you camp and it is windy the corrugated iron shed makes a noise , as do the geese , so choose a spot away from the buildings . Lovely people here .

Negotiated 8000AOK for both dinner and a bed. The room is large, but the roof is asbestos and there are some leaks. Better than being outside in the pouring rain.

Great view over the pass and the mountains. The owner of the restaurant let us camp for free. Like the others we therefore went there for dinner. Food was not good, but the family is really nice.

We were allowed to camp behind the restaurant. The owner didn't want any money but we still offered to buy some beer and food. Beer is cheap (cuca bottle 200kz) and 2750kz for food, you get turkey (we think) with fries and salad, quite big plate. They have a generator that turns on in the night. You will hear it outside but it is not too disturbing. You can also order a big portion of fries for 1000kz. We used the toilets in the restaurant. I think you can also shower but we used our own.
