Description

MODERATOR NOTE: This place is permanently closed.

This beachfront campground has about a dozen sites all covered by a large tree canopy. Each site has good electrical connections and a light setup. As a couple in a truck camper we paid $8 USD. Juan Luis the owner is a very cool and calm guy. It's a nice place with an inspiring view... The ocean has beautiful tide pools among the rock formations. Highly recommended.

Sad but we got here on the day they closed, we couldn’t stay.

Report Check-In

Amazing campground but as of June 13th sold and no longer functioning as a campground unfortunately.

Report Check-In

Wonderful campground directly in the beach with a lot of shaded places under large canopy to place a tent. Junior cares a lot about the place and keeps everything clean, helps with local experience and is just super nice. Will definitely come back to this place!

Gorgeous view, worth the drive in. We loved staying here more than any other camping in Santa Teresa. JR runs a great site and was super helpful. The phone number listed in incorrect, but it was fine for us to just drive up and get a spot. Perfect view, wifi, electricity, water and showers.

Great place ! Owner and his friend were very friendly, cooked something great and let us try and showed us some typical cooking. Fully equipped kitchen and great bathrooms.fast WiFi and beauuuuuuutiful beaches all around

Report Check-In

camping in front of the ocean , we paid 4000 colones per person with our tent .

Report Check-In

We arrived at the campsite in the afternoon and met other guests on the site. For us it felt ‘busy’ since we got used to seeing nobody during the low season. The owner is a nice guy, but is very commercially oriented and tries to squeeze as many rigs on the site as possible to maximize his earnings. This can result in standing right next to someone else and compromising privacy. There are several toilets and showers, but no warm water. Is was clean, but not super clean. One disappointment for us was that there is no sandy beach at this site, so swimming requires a walk. There is a great 4x4 road which takes you in about 30 min to the Cabo Blanco park, if you go right when leaving the camp site.

Report Check-In

As described below.
Campground with a cool and relaxed vibe.
Simple but clean bathrooms with nice cold showers. Surfspot (at High Tide) just 2 minute walk away.
Enjoyed our stay.

Report Check-In

Good spot just outside Santa Teresa. Good wifi, can fill water tank, showers. 4000 pp. note the roads to Santa Teresa are horrible. Plan a few days here to make the drive worth while.

Report Check-In

Excelente camping , perfecto para usar tienda de techo , fuimos con nuestras dos perritas y sin problema , 3 baños completos , cocinas súper equipadas ,2 refris y bastantes comodidades. Frente al mar y cerca de un alquiler de bicis.

Absolutely loved it here! Paradise! Surf in front of the camper and best ceviche next door at Caracoles. Go!

Beautiful campsite with lots of amenities - everything you'll need. Clean bathrooms and showers, big communal kitchen and fast wifi in the kitchen area. Nice view on the Pacific, friendly and relaxed people. I wish we could have stayed longer. We paid 7000 Colones for 2 people with our own tent.

Report Check-In

Very nice place, well maintained! Clean restrooms and showers, power outlets and light bulbs on several trees around camp! Shared fully equipped kitchen and fridge. Beach not really a swimming one as there are lots of rock BUT very relaxing views.

Report Check-In

Nice place. Good view and Friendly Guy ego ran The site . We checked The zeinadas camping area. Looked ok and more downtown, but The lady wasn’t friendly at all....

Report Check-In

Seaside camping with a lot of amenities and friendly staff

Report Check-In

Very nice and clean campground, the best so far, directly on the beach, electricity, kitchen, wifi and friendly owner. paid 6000 colones per person and night.

Report Check-In

Best place to stay as an overlander in Mal País or santa Teresa. Oceanfront spot, Shaded campground, electricity, bathrooms and showers clean. Pet friendly and chill owners, good WiFi, and big kitchen. 20 minute walk to the store and Carmen surf spot. With a big swell there is a point break that works almost in front of the campsite. I recommend this place to stay away from the party ambience of Santa Teresa. Prices are negotiable

Report Check-In

Very nice and relaxed campsite! Friendly owners with 3 dogs, a cat and a chicken as standard camp buddies. You can use a complete kitchen and there is free WiFi available. Best campsite for us so far.

Report Check-In

Nice camp spot but no swimming at this beach - rock shelf huge boulders no way to swim. But nice to play in tide pools!

Report Check-In

we spent almost 2 weeks here. it is such a beautiful and relaxing spot we just couldn't make ourselves leave. we've been travelling for 6 months and found the chill atmosphere, beautiful surroundings and comfortable amenities too good! our first week here was full with Ticos on new years hols and some overlanders but by the time we left was quiet. lovely place.

Report Check-In

Wicked spot. Best price around and everything you could ask for. Will be back.

Report Check-In

Great spot, owner is very generous, clean toilets and kitchen. Fast wifi. Far better than to stay in the dusty town. Surf spot 100 mts south, empty most of the time, watch out for the rocks.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot right on the water. Friendly owner, William. Approx 1.5 km walk to town.

Report Check-In

We met other Overlanders there. Try to stay directly on the beach. The view there is amazing. We did not use the kitchen. Restrooms and showers are old but clean. WIFI works well at all sites. We payed 3000 Colones per people per night.

Report Check-In

Great place! Beautiful cove (no swimming due to rocks) but amazing sunset. Thumbs up!

Report Check-In

Stayed two nights. Busy but big enough to accommodate the crowd. A couple of prime Oceanside spots taken when we arrived. Drove back and forth to surf because of the dust storm involved with the walk. We preferred the free spot on the beach for all day wave action. Super mellow spot with fast wifi, potable water, kitchen and the works. Lots of overlanders here.

Report Check-In

Elemar. Awesome place on the beach . Great kitchen area , clean bathroom. 2 km to Santa Teresa.
Great expetience

Report Check-In

Recommend this place. We are 26' long, nearly 10' tall and made it to a spot at the beach. Taller/longer rigs should stay near front; low hanging wires and tight maneuvering between trees was needed. Paid 3000pp with power. William very friendly. Great Wi-Fi and Movistar reception. Note: this is not a swimming beach but you can walk to one. Bathrooms are clean, have seats but no paper. There is laundry service in the town for as low as 1000C a kilo (half the price of Samara!). There is also a washing machine at this campsite as well but no dryer; clothes and take a while to dry with the ocean breeze being damp. Lots of other overlanders were here too. We tried Mexican restaurant nearby; excellent food and service. A little on the pricey side.

Report Check-In

As advertised. Great spot right on the water and tide pools. Walk to town up the beach is about 15-20 mins. Caracolas restaurant (3 min walk) is supposed to have great food but was closed during our stay. Owner, William is a great guy! He has bikes to rent for 2000/day.

Report Check-In

Very nice and clean camping spot direct by the sea.
Kitchen was clean and pots and pans were for use.
Bathroom with cold shower, but clean.
Electricity hookup at every side possible, WiFi good coverage and very fast.
We payed 5000 crc for 2 people and a car.

Nice shaded campground right in front of the beach. Clean shower and restroom. Sink to do dishes, electricity at campsites, kitchen and tables. William, the owner is friendly and helpful. Really enjoy our stay here.

Report Check-In

Beautiful on beach. Friendly owner with wifi, bathroom and kitchen. 3,000 colones per person to camp on own tent

Report Check-In

Stayed here 1 night. Great place, felt secure. Beach not the best for swimming-rocky.

Report Check-In

Asked for C3000/person the first night and we were too tired to negotiate. Asked if we could pay C5000 the next night for two people and he said no problem. Lots of people but a quiet place. Sit in the tide pools as it comes in.

Report Check-In

Top place to stay. We were there between christmas and new year. It was busy but still very quite. We parked near the washrooms and had wifi at the spot. Washroom/toilets were clean. It also has a kitchen but we did not use it. The tide pools are awesome!

Report Check-In

Great little campspot just north of Mal Pais. The owner William was sprawled out in his underwear tanning when we arrived which was quite the sight but he seems really nice. Asked $2500 but negotiated $3500 for the two of us. This place is a long walk from town or cheap food which is potentially a negative but great mostly flat and shaded spot. The surf break of Mal Pais is easily walkable and a fun left hand reef break that works at high tide and is a bit sheltered from big south swells which was great for us. Clean flushing toilet/shower, power outlets and lights at sight. Internet near the cabinas but not at the sites.

Report Check-In

Fantastic beach front camping. Nice set up, well maintained. Tide-pools are perfect for our 2 year old to play in. Bit of a walk to the closest store and nearly impossible at high-tide. The road is really, really dusty, the beach is a much better option, but the path may be tricky to navigate at night.

Report Check-In

Very nice campground! 2500 colon/pp/night. Shade, beach, friendly owner William. Clean toilets and shower. Kitchen available. Recomanded!
