Description

The only plant in town that sells propane and not butane according to the gas adapter shop salesmen. Though you’d probably be fine with butane (see other gps listing above). You’ll need the adapter here. Also note that butane is often referred to as propano throughout Latin America.

*Info: There is absolutely no place in and near Salta to fill a fixed propane tank*.

Open on saturday, however they don't refill fixed tanks... There's an Hypergas plant near town, will post it when I find it.

he was prepared to fill our 5 kg US bottle but he asked for 3 hrs time to do the job. then we purchased a full 10 kg bottle from him, so we will have more and longer gas, and we can change this bottle everywhere in argentina.

Nice man honest - does gravity fill of US Bottles. He told me he would only be able to get a couple of kilos into my bottle and told me where the gas plant is where they actually have a pump to fill the bottles. If I had been completely out would have been a godsend. I went to the plant and got filled but that was not a good experience.

Report Check-In

Took about an hour or two to get the bottle filled. They wanted us to leave it. Paid 100pesos for a ~12l bottle. It's a small green building with white metal gate with some numbers on it. No sign. There's a huge super market and a car wash close by to spend the waiting time resourcefully. Had a pol-pol male adaptor for our U.S. bottle, which worked fine.
