Description

NO RESERVATIONS - Got a spot! We arrived late at 9:00pm and checked the information board at the welcome center. They had a list of available sites posted up. We did self check in and slept in our car. It was wonderful! Sure, it is pricey at $35/ night, but the Oregon coast doesn't seem to have many pull out spots, so we were grateful for this awesome spot! The walking trails, beach and shipwreck were AMAZING! Such a great spot!

$32 Oregon resident, otherwise $40 for w/e.
When we arrived around 4:00 pm, the office was closed and reservations must be made online. You need to jump on their wifi as most of the campground is a cell phone dead zone. Thankfully, no reservation fee added, but out-of-state residents pay 25% more, so a $32 site is $40 for us.
Great park, worth staying to see everything. Very empty right now, but lots of loops close 11/1, after which maybe it's a bit tighter.

As others reported - this is one big park! We parked our Van in site K 5 which is surrounded by tiny cabins but had 2 issues. First - the showers closed at 4 pm so homeless folks don’t sleep or drug up in them. Also the Elk were everywhere. No sure if this is year round or a fall/winter issue but we had to stay clear of the large animals just to walk to the restroom. There was also a lot of construction going on at the major beach access points which is a good thing .

This is an enormous park! There are a handful of tent sites - no power/water but much cheaper at only $21 a night. This is K loop (mixed in with the fancy cabins). Showers hot free and unlimited pfor registered guests

whosever job it is to keep people quiet after hours, did not do their jobs. I will not stay here again.

Fort Stevens is a huge campground with a KOA with a laundry across from the entrance. Hiker Biker sites have lickers and charging station. Great park for bicycles!

Report Check-In

Second year in a row we visited. Wanted full hookups and had to book the site all the way back in February. We were in the M loop, which is a south loop considered near the lake. M28 is not level. Water and power pole are not located together. Both are well used and could use some TLC. Sewer port also looked well used, but it’s location was good and easy to hook up to. Campsite area well trampled. Where there should have been grass was nothing but trampled roots and sandy dirt. No site privacy, our picnic area abutted the neighbors curbside with no vegetation between us. Restrooms were typical Oregon State, but included a family bathroom which was a self contained suite, toilet, sink, shower, and changing table. Restrooms were presentable, but with that many campsites in a loop, it was a very busy place. Multiple camp hosts present and so much firewood available to buy. The rest of the park was in great condition. Brought bikes this year which really opened up exploration of the park and quick access to beaches. Bugs! So many mosquitos. We thought we were late enough in the season to avoid them, but no. Come prepared.

Expensive at $45 USD a night. Had electricity and water tap on site but zero bars at all for service and very busy

Report Check-In

A really nice spot with lots of space this time of year. plenty to do. We paid $40 for water and 30 amp. Used the free dump on the way out. Oregonian get $5 off. Really struggled to get an ATT signal.

We camped 1 night here with our camper, and were one of two groups on our entire loop. Not odd for mid-week February, but the privacy was nice! M Loop was beautifully wooded and private. There was a water spigot at our site. Bathrooms were super clean. The park is huge and we saw only a tiny fraction of it in our time. We will definitely be returning to camp here year round.

Report Check-In

Enormous state park with nice camp sites, a mix of back in and pull-thru sites. Most campsites are partial hookup, power and water, including 50 amp posts in many camp sites. Four loops in the park are full hookup. The rest of the loops are power and water only. With power and water located at nearly all campsites, wash water dump stations are located on the loop roads in convenient locations. Restrooms are flush and running water with private shower stalls. Showers and restrooms are maintained and presentable. There is at least one camp host in each loop, sometimes two. Campsites are nicely sized but not super private. The back corner of our site, where our fire ring was located was right next to the rear of a neighboring back in site. The rear of a neighbors trailer was overlooking our fire ring. So sites are pretty close to each other and desperation by vegetation feels more limited than other state parks I’ve been in. So much to explore and miles and miles of paths. So bring your bike.

We reserved one night as we were going to get here at 7pm on a Saturday night. I read there was minimal tent camping so I reserved a RV spot ($40 with fee) even though I have a rooftop tent on my Rav4. Showed up around 7:30 and it was packed. Stayed in C Loop which was very busy, minimal privacy and extremely loud until about midnight. The MOSQUITOES were insane. They didn’t stop biting and you would have a cloud around you even with bug spray so be aware. A little disappointed but if you have an RV or mosquito tents you would be okay.

So, 6 tent sites mixed in with cabins in K loop. $25 for out of state and $20 for Oregon residents. Long walk to toilet but showers included. L loop looks good but expensive, its full hookup. The electric only loops are $35 but open with little privacy. Almost no one here in winter so lots of loops closed. Three dump sites. Selling ice and firewood. I wish they would turn one of the other loops into tent only also. Just turn off power and water. Instead they have us all crammed us together on K loop, what with covid and all.

Report Check-In

We did a walk in reservation and ended up staying a second night because we really liked it. The staff are all lovely and more than helpful. The 6 tent sites are booked months in advance so we paid for power and water ($32 per night) even though we are self sufficient in our van. If you can, stay in loop “J” as these sites are all in the forest and fairly private. If you can’t get into loop J then ask to be in loop F which is similar and still nice spots. One of the staff told us the other end are more grassy and not very private. Heaps of walking/bike trails to the beach, nice lake and the historical side is interesting too.

Report Check-In

As described. $32 for a site and $7 for another vehicle. showers were included, and clean. sites were not private at all but they made an attempt to space people out.

Excellent state park. Clean washrooms, paved loops, and excellent hiking trails. There is a lake for fishing and a ship wreck on shore (we are hoping to see it before we leave). All sites have power and water for $32 and sewer added for $34. We were happy here, it is a quiet and well thought out park. There are also fish in the lake though we did not fish. There are also a lot of mosquitoes.
We would definitely stay again.

Report Check-In

$30 overnight camping allowed without reservation in the lot and on grass at the end of the point. follow boat launch signs. we didn't stay but quite a few others were. water available at the campground nearby.

Report Check-In

Paid $ 21,- for a tent site. Excellent for a car with RTT. No hookups here but 150 meters from hot shower and bathrooms.

Report Check-In

We were pretty ticked off that they did not accommodate the "Low Income Traveler", but we did find that the $17 was worth it for the amenities, and the fire pit. If I showed up and there were no "tent sites" I would have chatted right away with the host to negotiate the stay. It just does not seem right to offer only 6. Anyway - I am still ranting....

Report Check-In

This State park (to be honest) was a bit of a disappointment. We rolled in late night with the intention of only staying the one night, so we did not really get to use or experience what the area may have offered. My disappointment comes from the fact that they only have 6 Tent (low income) sites out of a total of 170 or so. All the sites were with hookups except the 6, and all others would have been $25-$30 instead of the off season $17 for the tent. We were in a dodge van, and are self sufficient and it is unfortunate that a state park does not have more to offer the cheaper travelers. Not everyone can (or would) travel in a Big RV. If you ended up arriving and there were no tent sites available, I would immediately go to the nearby Campground host and negotiate a similar hookup site at the non-hookup rate. I am sure that they would. Hot Showers and Potable water. Nearby Ship wreck, lots of bike trails and pretty natural area.
