Description

Wildlife Management Area (Nebraska MWA) at Kiowa Wildlife Management Area. Free RV and tent camping for everyone, no fees charged, that is the reason it's 3 stars. Stay/camping limited to 3 days at a time as a general rule but, could be allowed longer. Check signage to verify or call # below. Nice area. Roads are gravel/dirt.

Note*. As a rule: If you have questions or want to confirm the posed signage, call (402) 471-5531 for a Nebraska Gane and Park conservation officer/ranger. All Nebraska WMAs are free to camp for everyone. Check signs as you enter for each WMAs specific's regulations, if there are any. If you want electrical and water hookups for RVs, you will need to go to a $pay fee "Nebraska State Park" or a city park, which are really nice but not free, like the free Nebraska WMA's.

Super Loud. The train tracks seemed very active all night with continual horn blows. Do not stay here if you are in a tent. We stayed in our RTT.

Report Check-In

Good, convenient spot. Train’s not too close. Att service is strong. Lots of room. Overall, a good spot for a no frills, no hassle, free overnight.

open lot, 42ft fifth no problem.
Scott's bluff nat pk 10 mi or so.
No problems with a 2 not stay.
Beautiful sunsets both nights. only neg. end of July, lots of flys, well it is the country and they did fertilize the fields locally.... Would stay again.

Well, this would have been a great stay had it not been for the tornadoes passing through, complete with golf ball sized hail. We stopped here hoping to spend the night and just finished making dinner when the storms rolled in. We did meet a cool snapping turtle who stopped by to say hi, but he beat feet when the lightning started. After getting stuck in some mud trying to save the solar panels we moved on to the Walmart in Scottsbluff.

Gravel parking lot with overlook for wetland conservation area. Parking lot not graded, easy enough to get level though. Full strength AT&T LTE.

Report Check-In

Beautiful open lot that overlooks wetland! When I got here, I was the only one. Train is up the way, but I'm use to it as I live about 7 blocks from tracks. Had 4 bars for AT&T.

As mentioned by others, there’s quite a lot of noise from the trains, right off of the county road, a big gravel lot, with good Verizon coverage . Good for one night stay! Other than the trains it was quiet, great sunset over the wildlife mgmt area.

Report Check-In

Ok for the night but the trains were definitely quite loud and passed through sounding horns all night. Parking lot is getting pretty rutted, but there's still flat spots to be found.

Report Check-In

Just a gravel parking area off a county road, but its quiet, except for the occasional train about .3 miles away. Nice boardwalk / deck that gets the evening sun. Keep it clean.

Really a big parking lot. The plus is its flat, can probably hold 50-100 vehicles and 3 miles from 385. Lot of trains but we livespending a night in the city so didn’t bother us. Full sun but in late Aug wasn’t an issue. Great stop for

Report Check-In

Nice and quiet at night. Just a train passing by and some traffic but really didn’t bother us. Clean and tons of space. More or less level :)

Report Check-In

This campspot is a gravel parking lot at a bird observing platform. Next to it is a road, with quite much traffic during the day. Not far away there is a railroad crossing, the trains pass frequently blowing the horn. It is really loud. No place to stay longer, but ok for one night.

Report Check-In

Ok, noise the train
l'endroit pourrait être parfait si le train qui passe a quelques centaines de mètres arrêtait de klaxonner au passage à niveau
