Side of road next to Malecon/Port. Felt pretty safe. No services.

Report Check-InWe park here for the night, it was saturday, really quite and safe, actually we were alone. Probably during the day when the parking is full could be and area on risk for robbery, but hey this is really in every part of the world!
Report Check-InROBBED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY. don't stay here. Police reported it's a dangerous spot. They broke into our RV around lunchtime and took tech.
Report Check-InThe municipal park close to this point is secured (that the police said) and quiet during the night. We paid 2 sol/hour (big rig) from 9am. The night is free.
Report Check-InNothing stealthy about this spot :)
We did not camp here, as we met fellow Belgians whose car got broken into on this very spot.
Be prepared with lots of big stones to throw at the pack of dogs roaming up and down the street.
Second night we parked in the adjacent municipal car park. Expensive parking (1 to 2 soles per hour) during the day, but free from 7pm to 7am and it gets you away from the road a bit so you don't have vehicles whizzing past all night.
