Rancho Jose Luis is a starting campground. We were the first guests. Jose Luis, the owner, and his campmaster Oktavio (called Puma) are very very friendly. Jose Luis speaks english and is very helpful. It's a gated and safe place to visit Morelia. Taxi to city ~ 130 Pesos

We really tried hard and eventually found this place but it was closed. Talked to neighbors but nobody knew where to find José Luis.
