Latest Check-Ins

Wonderful campsite and lodge with a very warm and friendly welcome! I can recommend this place very much! 10$ pPpN

Report Check-In

Campground attached to a luxurious lodge infrastructure (pool, bar and a good restaurant). At 10 USD ppn a real bargain, esp. compared to the prices in the park. Beware of scorpions on the ground at night!

Report Check-In

This place is absolutely beautiful and seems to be always getting updated. We only paid ten dollars ppn. Dinner at the restaurant was very good at about twenty five dollars for two people. The bathroom are fantastic with hot and cold running water. There is a lap pool on top of the bar where you can watch. Elephants come to drink from the pond. It's very clean and beautiful. The grounds are lovely.

Report Check-In

WARNING, our tent was opened and our stuff searched through while we were at the lodge. campground is around 300m from main lodge and there's nobody around. Don't leave anything of value in your tent. As far as this place goes it's nothing special. Average sand campsites with rundown facilities, very little shade in the dry season, though probably much better when the trees have leaves. Deep sand might be an issue with some riders entering the actual campsite. Friendly staff.

Report Check-In

Nice place just outside the park, paid 15$ pppn. Large sandy pitches, only 2 so call ahead if planning to stay there. Pool including visiting elephants, good bar and restaurant, friendly staff. Free, slow, wifi.

Report Check-In

Nice place close to Hwange NP. Ablutions clean and new, although only one of them has warm water. Fire wood provided. We did not see Elephants at the pool/water hole when we were there. Paid $10 pppn.

Report Check-In

Nice campsite ( very dusty) with 2 showers and toilets ( 1 has hot water 24 hours), washing up area with hot water and large firepits with free firewood. Short walk to lovely rooftop pool and bar, overlooking a waterhole and everyday the elephants come to drink, several big groups at one point we had 40 elephants there. we watched them for hours and they do a very funny action which I will leave as a surprise treat for anyone who visits!!! There is a big communal fireplace up by the restaurant too. Wifi is just about useable in and out for messages etc. 5 mins from maingate and also next to a wild dog conservation project.10 USD pppn, we stayed 3 nights.

Report Check-In

Amazing place, very friendly staff, bush camp feeling with facilities (very clean and brand new). Pool overlooking a waterhole with herds of elephants coming during the day. Unique!
Wifi very weak and Econet signal poor.

Report Check-In

Great place for camping very close to the main gate of the national park. The ablutions look very new and are cleaned everyday. No power at campsites. They will make you a fire at night if you want to. The reception and bar area look very modern. Wifi is for free but is not a very stable connection.. $10 pppn.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place, spacious leveled campsite. Very clean but still that bush-experience with the luxury of a restaurant at walking distance. Staff very helpfull and friendly.

Report Check-In

The nice pool with view on the elephant pool is now open as well.

Report Check-In

Suitable for BigRig, very well maintained, very clean, very friendly and every now and then a herd of elephants comes to visit.

Report Check-In

It's open! Still 10 dollars ppn, bar and restaurant are also open but they are renovating a small part of it. Campsites are very spacious and they lit a fire for you at night.

Report Check-In

The place is open and it is such an amazing and affordable place to stay!!! 10$ p.p. for camping. It's just 5 min from the main gate and people are so super friendly here. Everything is new build and some things are still under construction, but everything necessary is open like hot showers, bar, reception and WiFi.

During our stay we had elephants coming into the camp and drinking from the pool water which is in 3 m height. It was super funny to see the trunks climbing up the wall to drink.

Highly recommend this place!

Report Check-In

Still closed! No mention of when it will re open. Stayed at Miombo Safari lodge down the road instead

Report Check-In

Currently closed due to renovations. Unfortunately they let us not stay on the campsite even if it seems so that the campsites are not affected.

Report Check-In

very high trees and good shad also for big rigs, Wi-Fi only at the reception area, Good econet signal, accept card, still 10$ ppn, water tap just at the showers, no electricity just for light.

Report Check-In

We planned to camp at Gwango but couldn't as they do not allow children under 8 years to stay, as they say it's too dangerous as no fences. So please be aware if you have children.

Report Check-In

Still a really lovely place. Just to add that it is only one site.

Report Check-In

One of the best establishments we have ever visited or camped in! We were greeted by Patience, who was kind and helpful. Matthew assisted us with building a fire and clearly loves his line of work. The place is immaculate, the staff are outstanding and to top it all off; there is a watering hole opposite the fire pit and restaurant. José the chef makes delicious 'bush bread' and Pink was very helpful in arranging it to be made for us. Tuso the guide, is not only passionate and enthusiastic, he clearly loves wildlife and his job! We really wish we could stay longer, would highly recommend to anyone visiting Hwange National Park. Excellent in all areas, well worth $10USD pp/pn.

Great place to stay! Nice staff. Restaurant is good but pricy. We had to be escorted from the restaurant back to the campsite because elephants came around. What a nice experience having dinner with elephants next to you :-)
This happens very often they told us...be careful when walking around.
They made a fire in the campsite for us
10$, free WiFi at the bar.

Elephants walking through campsite next to your car. No fences. The campsite is about 300m away from the restaurant/reception. Very clean ablutions. Prices still 10 USD pppn. They have a water hole at the restaurant which elephants frequently visit. Highly recommend!

Report Check-In

Good deal for 10 USD, friendly staff and hot clean showers. The campsite is sand with 1 braai pit and 1 fire pit only. Good place to connect with the home front and do some laundry but otherwise nothing special.

Report Check-In

Highly recommended also from our side. Camping on beach white sand. Very friendly staff. Still 10 $ pp. Good food, especially the stew.

Report Check-In

Lovely place and reasonably priced at US$10 pppn.
First and foremost the thing that stands out is that the staff here were among the loveliest and friendliest people I’ve ever met. They couldn’t do enough for us - even offered to wash up our dishes for us when we finished our meal!
The site is on open bare ground area, nice and shaded under trees. Just one large communal fire pit and one communal braai stand, both of which were lit for us and firewood provided.
Ablutions clean and well-maintained with two lovely hot showers and an outside washing up/laundry hand washing area.
Restaurant/bar on site although we didn’t try it. WiFi was not working when we were there.
We had the whole place to ourselves, but I suspect it might be less comfortable if the site were busy.

Great campsite at the edge of park. No problems with dogs and allowed in the restaurant. Camping $10 pppn, dinner $8 per plate with plenty of options, breakfast around $6 depending on what you have. Day trips available for reception. Hot showers and free fast Internet, fire will be prepared if required. We saw a huge heard elephants on the ride in and plenty of Baboons. The road in is all good sealed road. Highly recommended, other campsites on the main road quoted us $15 pppn with cold shower and no Internet so very glad we made the ride out here.
