We were told that we can not stay at this place for the night. So we decided to go to the official parking. The guardian allowed us to stay overnight. Paid 10s for the night + park entrance which was very nice.
Report Check-Inwe stayed at the indicated coordinates. very quiet night. no infrastructure. no movistar reception.
Report Check-InWe have a big rig and may have been able to drive down to this site, but it's rain season and the road was one mud puddle after another. So we parked almost directly across the road from it, about 100m from the road entrance, in a gravel pit. 800m from the entrance to Cumbe Mayo. Level and quiet.
Report Check-InGreat camping spot! Well hidden from the dirt road above and quiet at night since there is little road traffic. Cumbe Mayo is worth visiting - lots of cool rock formations, a 3000 year old canal and petroglyphs. Cost is 5 soles pp plus 5 soles to park.
Report Check-InWere going to camp at Cumbe Mayo but the old man's initial price of s100 so got under my skin that even though I talked him down to s20 I did not want to give him any of our money... So just down the road we saw this little dirt track into the trees, followed it down into a little slightly sloped clearing, hidden from the road and perched just above the Incan aqueduct. It is a little tight and big rigs might want to walk it first.
