Description

there is a nice, big Gasstation abot 11km before the border to Peru.
Plenty of space to park, clean toiletts and an armedguard is walking around all night long. The station closes between 22h and 07h so its was pretty quiet during the night..

we got there around 6:30pm, as sun was going down. yellow tape across the station so parked to the right in front of cemetery. saw guard walking around a bit. went up to the station to let him know we would be staying the night and get his ok. bathrooms were locked so hoped to inquire about that. he was in the office so i waved and said excuse me, he pulled his gun out and came out the door yelling at me that i can’t pass the tape and that we needed to leave. i said ok ok, but is it ok to sleep in the van over there? and he kept telling me we had to leave. don’t argue with the angry man with a gun. too late to try the reserva, so went up the street to all the restaurants, ordered food and they said we can stay in their side yard — we’ll see how it goes. maybe better to get there when the station is open or just don’t draw the attention of the guard?

This gas station in not that big but the parking on the dirt between the gas station and cemetery had a fair amount of room. It wasn't too noisy my husband said. I had ear plugs in and didn't hear a thing all night. It's 21 km from the border, not 11.

They were happy to sell us fuel. They were out of "Extra" so we had to pay the premium for "Super" but at these prices it was still a very affordable fill up.

After a long day crossing from Peru, this seemed to be a good option for 2 tired people. We parked between the station the cemetery. We assumed it would be quiet because of comments here and also because the main highway bypasses this town. Our assumptions were proved wrong. The trucks know this is the shorter route, and they take it - all night long. So this is not the place for you unless you can sleep through constant truck traffic noise.

gas Station is Not big.. But the space in front of the cemetery is decent enough. Even tho is right next to the road it wasn't too loud at night. Guard 24hrs , toilets very clean

This petrol station was closed when we went past (6:30pm on a Saturday) so we drove a few kms down the road to a Primax on the left side of the road. This is open until 10pm but there is a guard there all night who was happy for us to stay there. Quiet enough.
