Description

Campground with several flat parking spaces on peninsula into Arenal. Good swimming spot. Would be nicer without cemented-in tacky yellow tables and chairs which look like they're stolen from a cafeteria!

Beautiful small peninsula. Several level spots on the hill close to the bathrooms. There is one (almost) level spot closer to the lake close to a power pole. Saw a tucan. Take care of the aunt highways.

Nice campground with plenty of space! They have bbq’s available and the strange yellow table and chairs. We were welcomed by several howler monkeys, sloths and a toucan! Bathroom and toilets are ok, no hot water though. Text the number at the front of the campsite if nobody is there ;) have fun!

Very nice place. Good to swim, SUP and more

Place as described, beautiful, good for hiking, cycling, kayaking, boating, fishing, paddle board, kite surfing nearby. You can find a grocery store 1 km away, pizza express Gutierrez. I recommend and the owner Sílvia is very helpful

Camping au bord du lac Arenal, super calme et très mignon! Places avec tables et chaises ainsi que des grilles, une douche et des toilettes. Accueil tranquille, 10’000c pour 2personnes et un van, par nuit.

The price per night is 3000c pp from 6:00 PM to 7:00 AM. and 2000 c for the day. the girl has few manners to charge. There are no regulations for camping only in her head. .... very happy to get out of that place.

We had high expectations of this place when we read all the reviews. Unfortunately it did not match any of them, except for the view and the quietness. There is no internet, no working lights, the toilets and shower are dark and dirty. No toilet paper, very wet and humid, again no lights and worms everywhere on the ground in both toilets and shower. We felt like wild camping and wondered why we actually paid (6k for 2 ppl) to be here. Maybe we were unlucky, maybe this place is past it’s expiration date... we were happy to leave this place in the morning.

Really nice and calm place. I was alone and camped in my tent. Lots of birds and some monkeys.
Nobody was there when I arrived, so I just went down to the lake camp and payed the next morning when I left (3000c).

Nice place and very quiet. We had to pay 20 $ for one night.

Excellent spot!! we stayed here for 1 week doing nothing. just wake up doing the morning ritual, some workouts and waiting for the rain around 15:00. the climate is perfect not to hot at daytime some showers after noon in the rainy season and in the evening and night it's always fresh for a guaranteed good night of sleep. It's super quiet, besides the forest animals, all day and night and with the stunning spot directly on the little windy lake this has been one of our best campgrounds in the 15 months we are traveling now. clean toilets good shower and there is WI-FI around the house at entrance gate with password
[passwords are not allowed unless explicitly permited by the owner]
. We payed 4000 pp. just tell them you want to pay per night and probably will stay a couple of days. The family owners are realy friendly if you talk to tham with respect as we all should do. Would definitely go back here if we needed to sit out some time and relax. And about this yellow black sits, he we are I central America who cares.... ;-)

Nice place but negotiate a price and checkin/checkout time before you drive down! See below.
We arrived and there was no one at the house. So we opened the gate and drove down. Plenty of width for us at 2.6m wide and 3.5m tall. Clean bathrooms with shower and sink. Electric connection at several poles. Water connection to fill tanks. Shady and sunny. Clean shoreline. Gentle breeze. Monkeys. Birds. Ducks.
In the evening we walked up to the house and paid the requested 6,000C for two people overnight. The next day we drove out at 11:45. The woman asked for an additional day fee of 2,000c per person for the day use fee. I asked how long an overnight is and she said 6pm to 6am. I told her that was ridiculous. She relented and we drove off. It should have left us happy as it was a beautiful place. But the last exchange left us feeling yucky. As I said, negotiate it in the beginning and this is a nice place!

Nice place as described before. We think it is bis rig friendly. Our rig is 6.6 m long and 3.4 m high.
