Something not right?

Description

It's near the river and in small valley. There are lots of huge trees, so it's protected from wind. There is no toilet, electricity and shower. Most of the campground is occupied by homeless people living in tents. But it's free.

Big space sheltered from wind, with a river nearby. Spend one night there and it was actually closed. Really friendly the one in charge. Told me that they where repairing the camping as at the end of 2023 people from all places came and stayed for a couple of months, destroying the facilities.

Report Check-In

The pictures on iOverlander no longer reflect the current situation. 80-90% of the campground is occupied by homeless people. The overall aspect is disappointing and sad. We arrived relatively late in the evening and there was a single van. We left and went to a paid campground.

Report Check-In

Kind of okay place. Nice trees and not windy at all. Stayed here 1 night. Some homeless guys with tents live near the entrance of the campsite. Some abandoned (?) van is next to the river. The second night when we wanted to stay here, some barely running car came to the campsite, first they were a bit further from us near the river and later randomly when it got dark reparked next to us, about 10m away with car running, just the 2 of us at the campsite (weird or no?), so we just left. No showers or bathrooms.

Report Check-In

Very nice place, with 2 chemical toilets, the river is beautiful and calm... some dogs but no problem.

Report Check-In

It's a free campsite. It's s a ok place. Full of trees, so there is no much sunlight in this campsite. Chemical toilets available, it looks like they are cleaned every morning. Due to the heavy wind, it can be that the garbage is all around, so this is a downside of this place. We camped here a few nights, and it's all good and a safe spot.

Report Check-In

Excellent place, completely protected from the wind. Two pit toilets. Rather large such that you do not hear the neighbours. Sometimes noise by the dogs, however. Best place to stay in Ushuaia!

Report Check-In

Great free Municipal Camping. Spent all of our nights in Ushuaia here. Two chemical toilets that were cleaned at least once during our week long stay.
You can park right next to the river.
We really liked it here and did not see a reason to move to a different campground or wildcamp.

Would absolutely recommend this Municipal Camping.

Report Check-In

Definitly our favorite place to sleep in Ushuaia in our Campervan.
We slept at many places (stayed for more than 3 weeks in Ushuaia), but except for the nights in the nationalpark, these nights here were our quietest! (We had like 10 nights here and only 1 was not quiet because of reggeaton…)
The view is not the best, but you have many trees, which are building little naturals parcells.
You can have a nice walk (with very nice view) at the riverside behind the campsite or play soccer at the small soccerfield.

Police is checking 1-2 times a day, which fehlt very good.

The only negative thing: There is quite a bit of rubbish flying around. There are bins, but sometimes they are getting to full, so that people just put it next to them, than the dogs (very nice dogs) are coming and than… you can imagine….

Report Check-In

Really nice place. It is free and there is a bathroom that seems to be cleaned every day. The police coms in every now and then to check for fire.

Report Check-In

Calm and peaceful place. Very dark and quiet at night, and sheltered from the wind. The chemical toilet is very dirty, only for emergencies. I found it interesting that at dawn a police car passed by for verification, and the presence of several people camped gave us a lot of security!

Lugar calmo e tranquilo. Bem escuro e silencioso à noite, e protegido do vento.

Free municipal campsite. No electricity no water tap. For water there is a small, clear river for pumping water. In addition there are trout in the river for fishing enthusiasts. 2 chemical toilets. Barbecue. Be careful until about mid March 2023 it is forbidden to make a fire and use barbecues, because there was a large fire in Tierra del Fuego. The campsite is sheltered from the wind and shaded, be careful to recharge the solar panels.

Report Check-In

Still free, calm, with bathroom and river, still no fire allowed (dec 22) but fire pits available. Flat ground, a lot of space and trees.

Report Check-In

Nice free camping, there are some firepits, chemical toilets (which were surprisingly clean and furnished) and bins. It's fairly big and next to a river. Rubbish around and broken glass so be careful

Report Check-In

Stayed here 1 night, we wanted to compare the two municipal campgrounds. This one is definitly better protected from the wind. We liked the dixi toilets, quite clean. Nice protected campground in the woods. For the views, go to the other municipal campground.

Report Check-In

Free camping in the wood next to the river. Calm and protected from the wind so good for rooftop tents. There are a lot of places and firepits. 2 chimicals toilet but not very clean. We stay 3 nights. There is a kids playground.

Report Check-In

Awesome place for free! Calm, protected and safe.
There's a little shop (La Antonella) across the street where you'll get your basics.

Report Check-In

Free campground in the woods, close to a river. Nothing but nature and silence. Well, at least during the week. Only two Dixi toilets. But okay for a night or even more if you are self-sufficient.

Report Check-In

Spent two good nights here. There is very good wind shelter so perfect for rooftop tents. Some white noise from the river. It’s clean and there are many trash cans. Two toilets but without water. Some people come every morning to clean them and leave a big water bottle (for flushing maybe?). There is a very cute kids playground and many places to do barbecue. During the week 1-2 cars come to have a barbecue and leave or stay with a tent. One evening we arrived to a family with two kids who came and was cutting a tree with a chainsaw (a dry one but still..) at 9:30pm (???) to make fire.

Report Check-In

Free campground with no facilities, but 2 Dixies which are OK. We used the YPF to take a shower. (the YPF in the center has no shower. Go to the one which is closer to this campsite. Payed 50 ARS for the shower and you can refill your water tank there.) Each parking slot has own BBQ. There are many trees, so it is wind protected. It's close to a small river. Not that easy to find. There is a sign on the street, but we overlooked the small path which goes down hill quite heavily.
We were there on a Friday night. There were some locals to have BBQ, but they left around 10pm and it was quiet. We were the only ones staying the night.

Report Check-In

Place with no facilities, but safe for a wild camping.

Report Check-In

Very nice place at the river. Wind protection in a valley with high trees. 2 Dixi toilets. No noise from dogs or traffic.
We stay on Sunday with 2 more tends. Clean area.

Report Check-In

so quiet here. we really enjoyed it after having a music evening/night at the other camping municipal

Report Check-In

Very good place.
Basic structure but with a beautiful river and many trees.

Report Check-In

Good option for windy nights, as it is well protected from wind by a lot of trees. Campground has been quiet for 2 nights for us with frequent police controls, so feels safe. There's trash cans around, although people seem to lazy to use them. I did some cleaning, but there's a lot of trash. I don't think overlanders are so much the cause of trash. Apart from garbage, it's a good option if you seek wind protection (rooftop tents).

Report Check-In

Basic campsite, no facilities and a little trash.
You can spend a night sheltered by trees and rain.

Report Check-In

Good place, no facilities, a lot of trees, Wind protection

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

could be a nice place with good wind protection if it wasn't for the garbage, poop and toilet paper everywhere...

Report Check-In

Looked nice enough, but I wanted to leave my bicycle and bags to go for a hike and didn't feel comfortable doing that here, just because it was a very open area with people coming and going a lot. Seemed like it could get loud at night too. Mostly designed for car camping but there are a couple slightly more separated tent sites by the river that would work for cyclists. I went up the road to Camping La Encantada instead, more expensive but I felt better leaving all my things there while hiking.

Report Check-In

nice place in the woods, very quiete.
no facilities but good spot

Report Check-In

Quiet camping municipal, basic, a little dark, not so clean, but we parked next to the river and it was lovely. People walk their dogs or have a picnic there. Fine for 1 night

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Under constitution and crowded with people listening to blasting techno music. We left at 2am as it did not stop. Go to the playa larga parking lot that one is much better.

Report Check-In

Camped here for a night. Sadly there’s a lot of garbage around. There were a lot of rusty nails where we camped. Restrooms are out of service but you can use the nice restrooms at the train station during working hours (8am-5pm). Free.

Report Check-In

Several spots all with asado grills and a nice playground for kids. We came here on a Wednesday and were alone until 7:30pm when 3 cars showed up blasting music and having a bbq. luckily they left by 10:30pm but of course they left all of their garbage just like the crowds from the weekend before. The place is littered with bottles and cans. If you need a place to stay during the week this is an ok option but on the weekend it is probably out of control.

Report Check-In

Lots of picnic/barbecue trash, broken glass bottles, spray graffitis on the grills, but I think the biggest problem is all the dust that comes from the upper street. Few young guys drinking and listening to loud music. We didnt stay.

Report Check-In

It's near river and in small valley. There are lots of huge trees, so it's protected from wind. There is no toilet, electricity and shower. But it's free and good campground. I don't know why but nobody knows here. Here is not in google maps, maps.me and ioverlander. I stayed 6 days there and totaly lonely. Only except sunday :) local peoples came for barbecu.

There is a YPF near here and good hot show is only 20peso. There is also La Anonima Market near here. Tourist Info is 4km and you can find fast wifi, table, chair, electricity, clean toilet :)
