Description

UPDATE 17/11/2019 - beautiful view of Kilimanjaro this morning!!!!!! Great campsite for 250 shillings pppn for Kenyan citizens/residents.

Quite nice, but fenced and directly at the park border and the entrance gate.
No View of Kili, too expensive.

Latest Check-Ins

Just inside the gate. It was ok. Hot shower, toilets, fire pit and somewhere to wash dishers. $30 pp on. Would probably use the community camp just outside the gate the next time.

Report Check-In

Basic,
Hot water didnt work
Nice fire pits
Flood lights
KWS Could do with not treating overlanders as undesirables and move the campsite to a better location, it is at the extreme edge after all the workers accommodation, like they don't want you here.
For 30$ a night it would be nice to wake up to a view, Kili and tbe plains.

All in all was ok. It's simple, nice and expensive ;) Lots of space. Kitchen with sinks, running water and power slots. We constantly had problems with showers, i.e. low pressure and gentle electrical shock from water heating. Very nice view over Kili in the mornings.

Very nice campground inside Amboseli National Park approximately 40 km from the western gate. Flat ground, kitchen hut, toilets, hot shower, fire pits, picnic tables. Some shade, close to “canteen”. Must pay park daily rate $60 USD/pp and $30 USD per night to camp.

Report Check-In

Close to fence and although in the park it does not feel as such. Overpriced. We paid $30 pp per night. Good sanitation with hot shower.

Nice campsite with toilets, showers, fire pits and a separate washing up area. 250 shillings pppn for Kenyan citizens/residents. You can pay for this at the Kimana Gate which is a 5 min drive to the campsite. Had a stunning view of Kilimanjaro this morning!!!!! We checked out elephant gorge (Winnie’s place) outside the park but preferred this campsite (KWS).

Report Check-In

Facilities are clean, but expensive campsite. Campsite is very close to the gate so you better stay on the campsite outsite the park. We paid 30 dollar pppn.
