Description

Hotel El Dorado is a great family run restaurant right on a good beach with fun surf. Warm and welcoming we felt like we were part of the family. They have space for tents and shady areas to park a van. They where happy for us to camp as long as we bought a couple beers though highly recommend the food. Head towards the beach and follow the dirt rd that runs behind the beach restaurants its the last one on your right before you get to the second rock wall.

Super nice family, i stayed 2 nights. I felt very safe and welcomed as a solo female. The town is very friendly and I had no problems walking around by myself. The town mostly consists of restaurants along the wide sandy beach, the surf was a little rough to swim in. Overall I would definitely stay here again.

We were looking for somewhere to stop for the night on the way to Puerto Escondido and saw a few pins down on this beach. It was super quiet on Fri night / sat Morning. Beautiful and remote feeling with the undeveloped federal lands around. Nice family. They made us some food when we arrived even though it looked like they were closed. We were going to do a boat trip on the lagoon, but it was 2-2500 for 2 people 1 1/2 hour so we skipped that. Lowest price was 1500 but still seemed steep. @plannedspontaneity

No cabañas. Good food. Camping for free as long as you make some consumption. Decent wifi. No cell signal. Nice owners.

As I was cycling into Cerro Hermoso, I was stopped by Jorge and he offered me a place to camp at his restaurant. When he showed me around, I was delighted as there was shade, toilets and showers, wifi, etc. He introduced me to his father, who was very insistent that I have a cigarette; I don't smoke and didn't appreciate his aggressive attitude. As I was erecting my tent, he became rather abusive. So much so, that I was not comfortable and decided to find another place to stay. Jorge apologised and indicated that he had been drinking. A pity, as the place looked comfortable.
