Cobb Camp Osceola National Forest | Established Campground

Was recommended this place by a USDA agent in the forest, did not disappoint. Free dispersed campsite. Plenty of spaces. Verizon internet available but not great. Definitely some people living here and lots of abandoned tents and equipment, scored a free tarp.

It was our first time using this app. At first we were only using the GPS and it lead us to the entrance to Olustee Battlefield. Then we used this app and the GPS to find the camp site, which worked great! Great campsite. Private with a fire pit and picnic bench. Plenty of open space. Good Verizon reception.

Stayed just one night. Very peaceful and plenty other overnighters. You can pretty much park anywhere you want, so you decide how much privacy you want. Great free spot!

The directions to get to the site take you passed Cobb Camp Recreational Campgrounds. If the directions was where someone parked for the night you will need to drive down a bumpy dirt road about 2 miles and then the directions stop in the middle of the road. We couldn’t see any campsites at all.

Amazing spot. Level ground, decent road, decent Verizon service. Fire ring and picnic table - all for free. Loved it!!!

Great spot! I camped at the first camp on the left as you pull in, and it was amazing. Wide open, clean, tall trees, quiet. No bugs, and ok cell reception.

Maybe a good small group area or a reststop for the night at the sites close to the entrance. But if you just want peaceful privacy then this isn't the spot. This primitive camp is cramped together and busy for how large and empty the whole forest actually is. Campsites are quite close to the trail, so everyone hears and sees people driving through the bad road (sleep disturbing). The trail road is tore up like all the back trails here. You need a good truck or off road vehicle to get through the far back trails and you may get stuck or damage your vehicle. This area looks great for 4x4 mud bogging in the flooded trails, but apparently not much else. I'm quite disappointed in the land sharing for different activities. Many cramped at the camp, but didn't see anyone using the nearby flooded trails or signs of recent tracks. They really need to expand and improve the camping area. Even though it's free, it isn't worth the long drive with all the mosquitoes and a lack of a camping experience in the no place to explore woods.

Second time here. It is so calm. We stayed 4 nights. Good for electric bikes too.
Deuxième fois au camping Cobb. C'est très calme. On a dormi 4 nuits sans problèmes.

Quiet and spacious. Primitive camping for free up to 14days. Each site has a fire ring. Decent Verizon signal. Not appropriate for large rigs due to narrow and bumpy path within the campground. Plenty of room for my 24’ class c

Sandy off-road with little pot holes for the most part. The deeper you go into the campsite, the worse the pot holes get.

popular primitive camping area that can hold several groups. Didn't stay but did check it out. A car can camp if you find a spot in the front however towards the back where many drive through it is muddy and would require a truck.

Quite a few people staying here. Mostly Tenting. We arrived late and found a spot to stay. Had a nice morning in the forest. Easy access from highway, about 15min drive away and then back towards highway on local roads. We didn’t hear the highway as mentioned in another post. Would recommend a stay.

Stayed here 1 night. There were about 20-30 cars, tents or campers here but it everyone was spread out that it was fine.

Actually known as Cobb Scout Camp, lots of space, pretty quiet. Some small stagnant water ponds in the center which will likely be mosquito hatchers during mosquito season. Currently no charge, but there are signs up suggesting that they may increase the charge to $10 or five dollars for passholders. It seems like a perfect place for groups, so perhaps that’s why it’s named the scout area although it is national Forest land not owned by BSA or GSA.

That is the first really nice and free place that I visited in Florida since the last 3 weeks! Lot of space, no designed sites (just stay wherever you want), minimum 10 brand new portable toilets and bins. There is a post that's proposed to get a fee from 10$ (at February 2018) but it's still for free! The only bad thing here, is the noise from the I10- but the running generators are louder :-(.....
after two days, there came some guy's that collect the toilets and moved them away and didn't replaced them. so I decided to go to the 17Mile Camp. this is much quieter and you have more privacy.

Still free. Plenty of dispersed camping - some private if you go way back. Ground can get soft in spots wet wet, plenty of deep ruts seen. Several big rigs were doing fine, tho

Free camping with no service at Cobb campground. Nice vast clean forest. At the Ocean pond campground, there is a fee. See the photo for more information. I recommend this quiet site. Free Dump station at Ocean pond
Camping gratuit sans service au Camping Cobb. Forêt de conifères bien aménagé, propre et vaste. Au Camping Ocean pond, il y a des frais car certains sites sont avec service. Il y a une station de vidage et remplissage d'eau au Camping Ocean pond gratuite. Je recommande fortement ce lieu tranquille et serein !

nice quiet spot to spend the night in the forest. We left pretty early the next morning to avoid using the vault toilet

As described. There's a proposal to start charging $10 but it was still free when I was there. Great choice, lots of privacy, and there's a trail that runs right through it for some hiking.

Merveilleux emplacement pour les VR autonomes. Table de pique-nique sur plusieurs sites. Très tranquille mais il faut aimer être isolé de tout. Un 40 pieds peut entrer sur plusieurs sites.

no portapoties during the summer I guess. Can't really complain about the heat and humidity, that's Florida for you.

bring 10 gallons of bug spray cause mosquitoes are out for blood.

nice campground though. winters would be nice here.

Primitive camping. Portapoties. Some spots have picnic tables and fire pits. Free camping for 14 days every 30 day period. Big rigs can fit here, I wouldn't go too far in if in a larger Motorhome 40+ feet.
