Road from Kedegou to Tambacounda contains about 100km of bad road. It starts/ends 50km from Kedegou
its not the worst road in the world. but be aware that it will take time. took me about 3.5 hours on my moto. though my steerings bearings were finished
road condition varies from tarmac with some deep holes, to piste of varying quality where they are resurfacing and one section which is really bad. piste with big holes and little way to avoid.
naturally. there are also hidden speed bumps!
on my moto. I drove off the deviation where possible. some of the sections deviated are in good shape but due for resurfacing
just a heads up in case you were doing this section late. the road ether side to Dakar and Bamako is 95% excellent new tarmac

Completely right 20 km left. New Road is absolut perfect, very surprised!!! Looks like it could last for some years!!
Report Check-InRoad still bad. But not so bad! No problem to drive a big truck there! It took a a little time but no hidden speed bumbs or difficult parts!
Report Check-InMuch better now. Road in construction for just the last 20 km. They are going quickly so I guess they will finish soon. The new road is simply perfect.
Report Check-InThey are in the process of paving this road starting from Tambacoumba and have all but 22 km finished. The new stretch is the nicest road we've driven in all of Senegal.
Report Check-InIt is still in very bad conditions during 60 kilometres (10 kilometres before Niokolo til the end of the National Park)
Report Check-InUpdate 9th March 2017
From Tomba to Kedougou, the first 65 km are very good( New road) Then starts the bad road. We drove the first 35 km with our 6 wheels motorhome and did a u turn back to Tomba. Its really bad. Its possible, but you need a lot of time.
The refurbishment should be finished by end of June 2017.
