Description

Parked here for the day trek down to the bottom of the canyon. Seems safe, lots of people around, tourist agencies park their buses here. Room for big rigs. Can ask a local business store or restaurant to watch over your vehicle for a few soles.

The hike took 1.75 hours down and 2.5 hours back up, started around noon and was back before sunset. Very strenuous hike back up, altitude gain of about 1,200 meters. Really nice oasis at the bottom of the canyon, hostels with good food and swimming pools, etc. Would recommend spending a night at the bottom and hiking back up the next day if you have time for it.

Stayed at the square for two nights with our campervan. Left the campervan at the square during the day while hiking Colca canyon. Nobody bothered. Felt safe at all times.

Two nights here, feel safe and quiet. Personally, we dont recommend colca cannyon, thay charge a lot of money and all the trails have very bad signals.

Report Check-In

we parked our car on the plaza next to the police station for 2 days while hiking to Sangalle (georgous!). When we arrived we talked to a police officer and he said it’s no problem to park on the plaza and offered that we park near the police station.

Report Check-In

Parked in front of the police station for the day to go hiking. We paid a few soles to the ladies in a small store to keep an eye on our rig.

The hike took us longer than the previous inscription. Had 2h 30min down and 3h 30min back up. We even overtook other people... make sure you are back before it is dark.
