Magnificent staying for the night, from 20.00 clock quiet, no infrastructure Right on Rio Lagartos estuary. In the village turn right into Calle 19 to the pier, then right again
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Great quiet spot as outlined, although a lot of locals and tourists do come and go throughout the day. The place seemed closed down to me. No one came by that seemed to work there.
I wouldn’t take anything for granted with the pool crocs. People were swimming in there during the day, but then in the evening I saw a croc submerged in the shallows where the pool runs down into the estuary. I couldn’t see it from the pool, but could from the estuary walkway.
The two crocs at the signposted pool are awesome.
Report Check-InNice place. The Cenote by the beach had no crocs now. Toilets closed. The other Cenote at the back of the parking (crocs sign) has 2 lazy ones now. All free… Felt very safe.
Report Check-Inwe slep here in total blackness and silence...it's a wonderfull place if you seek calm.(except. on saturday...music until 5 am...)there is a cold shower.there is boat trips to see flamingos, but now is not the season.so,
there is not much to do around here, but there is an interesting village, at about 25km, las Coloradas, there is a pink lake! it's worth the 100 ppp!
Beware of the curved on that road....big trucks that go fast....
horrible Saturday night of noise and no-see-ms coming in through our screens. left at 4am with music still going. ended up on sand road east of Los Colorados. super quiet there.
Report Check-InStayed one night. Perfect and beautiful location by the water. Ismael, the tour guide owner made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. They told us we could use the regadera and left the toilets opened overnight for us to use. Very kind and nice people. We saw a crocodile by the water where the kids were playing. They didn't mind it and said that it is scared of humans and takes off. Still, we did not jump in the water.
Report Check-InVery nice people. I stayed at the parking lot for free. I ate at the restaurant, the camarones a la plancha were very good and I got beer!
The tip was added on the bill.
Stayed the night, was a great spot and night lights of the town were beautiful. For a out of town area, extremely clean and no noise at night. Clean because it is owned by the city and they pick up the garbage and quiet as it is patrolled hourly by the local police.
We found out the restaurant is also owned by the city, ate they, as we do if planning to stay the night in the parking lot. Tried to order beer, but none to be had, seems their liquor license has expired and not sure when or if they will get a new one. Got our own beer. Ordered chevicie, was extreme disappointed ☹️, the small that I ordered was barely noticeable on the plate, I suggested to the waiter there should be more, but not according to him. Paid the bill, 140 MP for the small chevicie, which I always order and is usually 80-100 MP.....gave him 200 and he brought back change of 40! So I asked for the rest of my change and he seemed put out! I would recommend the restaurant.
Bathrooms were left open all night, very clean, brand new I was told, still no toilet seats though.
Ok place. The spring for swimming didn’t look very inviting. Decent restaurant. Noisy at night u til late as all the locals drive out and party here at the end of the road. No flamingos this time of year
Report Check-Inlarge parking, decent bathrooms in restaurant, decent data reception, free but some small biting insects
Report Check-Innice place to spend the night after the pink lakes and flamingos
price was 50/150 without and with electricity.
bathrooms free.
when the wind died in the evening we had to hide in our van for the mosquitos
Perfect spot in Rio Lagartos. Hook up is possible if you can park close to the restaurant but there is no water. Nice place to swim and trips to see the amazing flamingoes and other wildlife that live among the mangroves. Only $50 a night so well worth it, especially as there is nothing else locally! Quiet, safe and easy.
Report Check-InLarge dirt lot near the public swimming hole/picnic tables. A few fire rings around.
We shared the spot with two other overland couples, but other than us it was very quiet at night.
Police drove though about 8pm and gave is the smile and wave.
Great location an easy walk to town and the boat tours.
Report Check-InNice spot at the lagoon special for the sunrise.very quiet, we are the only one with palapas
Report Check-Inthis is Overlander heaven for 2 days or so. From here you have everything everyone has mention, plus if you are lucky like us you can share a boat tour with people that come from the resorts and only pay 100 pesos per person. We did this and got to see the Flamingos, playa Colorada, and a cocodrille. There's an Ojo de agua at the balneario, try no to Touch the bottom so the water stays clear and you can see fish and some crab!
Report Check-InUn lugar muy hermoso, las personas que atienden son muy amables y puedes pasar la noche ahí, es muy seguro ya que gente que trabaja ahí se queda de velador, el costo es la ayuda que tú quieras dar.
Report Check-Instayed two nights, no problems at all. basic toilets for 5 pesos. nice spot to set up a hammock although you get visitors all day. got quiet mostly after sunset. police and military didn't mind. FREE.
Report Check-InNice place to stay overnight behind the public balneario, quiet at night. Restaurant with toilets nearby. Free!
Report Check-InQuiet overnight stay, only toilets available, no more facilities, especially no showers!!! Toilets 5 MXN, camping is for free, friendly owner. There is a bar on side where you can get a cold beer or a coke. You can go swimming directly next to the side (brackish water). A lot of picknick tables on the side as well. We felt absolutely safe.
Report Check-Insandy parking lot with brackish swimming pool where a river meets the sea
Report Check-InMagnificent staying for the night, from 20.00 clock quiet, no infrastructure
Right on Rio Lagartos estuary. In the village turn right into Calle 19 to the pier, then right again
Report Check-InBeautiful campsite right at the lagoon. We camped right beside the huge palapa, which we used for the hammock and barbecue. You can swim in the water, but there are crocodiles. The promenade invites you to walk into town. Toilets are available, but preferred not to use them.
