Report Check-In

Spent a night here in the parking lot before doing the morning boat tour. Found a mostly level spot which we later realized was next to an electrical outlet- perfect! The night security guard showed us the outlet (true 15 amp power) and bathroom (clean with toilet and shower). Didn’t use the bathroom but it looked nice. Felt safe and secure. Would certainly stay here again. The daytime guard never approached us, we only paid 50 pesos to the night guard. The boat tour was awesome! Go early. The boat left at 9:30 once enough people arrived to fill it. Feel free to reach out with questions.

Report Check-In

Night guard 'Heber' indeed friendly but by now also interested in the 50 pesos night fee arguing he is the one for security at night, not the day guard. Reasonable arguments and we didn't want an upset guard hanging around while we sleep so we payed him after our arrival around 5pm. Quiet night, clean toilets and even some tp. The day guard then was upset not getting the 50 pesos himself in the morning but was not too pushy and backed off quickly after telling him that we did pay and only make one payment for one night with the night guard having somewhat of a better claim. Everything in very broken spanish.

Report Check-In

Good place to park for the night. Toilets are clean and open for 5 pesos. The night guard is very friendly. Day guard, or whatever he is, ask for 50 pesos.

Report Check-In

Big parking to sleep before taking the first boat in the morning. Felt very secured.
As everyone, in the morning the guard came to ask us 75 pesos and we tried not to pay but after « arguing » few minutes we gave him 50 pesos…
We really enjoyed this tour and think it’s important to take the first boat in the morning (for us it was at 9am) like this you can see more animals and birds.

secure spot to stay the night. we didn't have to pay anything. night guard was very friendly. the day guard wanted to get money from us in the morning but we told him that we are going on the boat tour and just ignored his demand by not understanding. boat ride is nice - you need to wait though until there are at least 15 people to fill the boat. don't forget the tip for the captain.

Report Check-In

50 pesos a night, we payed in the morning. Even after booking a boat tour and insisting it should be free with a tour we had to pay.

Big rigs can easily fit here

Report Check-In

Arrived here around 4pm, asked the guard if we could camp if we were going to do the boat tour the next morning and he said yes, mentioned that he was off work at 5 and the night guards would be coming on, and would ask for 50pesos. Sure enough when they arrived they came right over and asked for 50pesos. They were super friendly but not sure how the previous poster got away without paying haha. It was a decent night, ate some mangoes from the trees and there were a few dogs to entertain the kids.

Report Check-In

Heber (a-bear), the night watchman stopped by before sunset. Nice fellow. He confirmed what the manager told me. No charge to park here, overnight, if you're going for a boat ride.
Found a flat spot, for the van, along the East side fence.
Quiet night. No dogs barking. No roosters crowing. No one asking for money to camp.

Report Check-In

We arrived in the afternoon, the security guy told us where to park, and asked us 50pesos for the night. We waited the the morning after to do the lancia tour, it's 270pesos and for the first lancia of the day they wait for minimum 15persons,we had to wait until 10am.
The segurity guy of the night shipt his adorable, he showed us the place explained the boat tour we will do, told us how to eat mangos (the parking lot is full of mangos trees)! We really liked him and his kindness!
For us the only problems was that there was a wedding the night we slept, and the music ended at 5.30am! So we didn't have a quite silent night! But this is a random negative experience.. Guess normally it's quite!

We arrived at 4:45 p.m. before the 5 p.m. closing. We asked if it was chargeable but we were told no as we are doing the boat tour the next day. The car park is guarded by a super friendly guard. The spot is really good and calm. This morning the person who was doing the maintenance of the parking lot asked us for 50 pesos for the night. We told him we were told it was free but he didn't want to hear it.

Stayed here after a tour in the afternoon. The last boat leaves between 2pm and 3pm depending on how many people want to go. We paid the guard that was working in the afternoon, the night guard asked for a drink but no money. We shared some Jamaica with him. Otherwise fine spot to spend the night.

Report Check-In

we arrived here at 4:30PM knowing we could stay the night to catch a boat the next morning. gates close at 5PM. night guard came by, we gave him 50pesos. next morning the day guard came and wanted to collect as well. when I told him we already paid he got a little mad and mentioned we should've paid him instead. besides this short and strange situation, it's a nice spot with plenty of shade, calm and safe at night. small restaurants outside the lot and a little Bodega up the street from where you come in...

That's the place if you want a boat ride into the canyon. After the boat ride (250p/person), we stayed in our motorhome on the big parking lot, 50pesos/night. There are several possibilities to connect to electricity, just ask the guard (day and night). Toilettes 5pesos, coins only.

We gave them some money and they looked about our Camoer even when we went to the boattour. Toilettes close by for 5 pesos. The boattour is awesome, cost now 250 pesos p.p. for 2 hours. Restaurants around but they don't accept animals.

Hello
We are arriving at 03.00pm and it was too late for the tour boat, because they need 15 persons for full one boat and we are a family of only 5 persons..!!!!!
So we sleep on place.
It's a good place to park your motorhome for the night !
Shadow, a little wind, quiet and safe.
We give a propina to the day guard, he was friendly with us.
For the tour boat it's 240 pesos by person and kids too.
It's a speed ballad of 2 hours in the canyon and you can see, 3 alligators, 3 monkeys, and 3 birds....!!!!
The canyon is nice...sometime you believe you are in "Jurassik Park"..!!!
Enhoy your trip and your night.

Stayed one night; calm and safe; it's getting busy around 8am; still for free but we gave the guards an tip

Perfect spot to stay the night after an afternoon tour of the canyon. Quiet and no hassles. We ran our generator to power our fans as it was quite hot through the night.

Canyon tour was simply amazing! Spider monkeys and crocodiles and spectacular mountains! Beautiful beyond words.

Report Check-In

Arrived at 5pm, gates closed at 5.30pm. Nobody collected a fee or a propina. Toilets 24h, 5 pesos, clean with TP. Quiet night. Dogs ok, plenty of shade to park in.

Checked at 8.30am, but we were only 9 people, and were said that we could buy tickets when we were 15. Could eventually buy tickets at 9.25, boarded at 9.40, back at 12. Bring a jacket, it gets cold when the boat speeds going back. 230 pp. Worth it!

Large parking lot, clean and safe. Perfect place for a night. Free if you tell the guard that you will take the boat next morning. Quiet at night.
First boat was around 9am. Price is now 239 pesos pp. Boat tour is about 2 hours, very nice. The arm bracelet is also valid for driving (on the same day) to the view points above the canyon.

This is the parking from the Chumare exit to the canyon. We arrive at 18h and it was close we horn and we found the guard we talk to him and told him we where going to go on the Sumidero trip in the morning and he let us in at 21:40( we when out to eat) quiet, gravel and sand parking. Shades and the bathrooms are free until 7:30 when they charge 5pesos. We did pay the parking. Free. The trip cost 215mx per person. Kids under 3 free. Beautiful trip!

Report Check-In

Spend the night in the parking-lot for free. Surprisingly quiet. The first lancha started at 9:30 am. 210 pesos per person. One and a half hour trip. The told us, that they need 12 people for one boat. Enough people around at 9 am, but nothing happened. At 9:30 am they picked a bigger lancha and squeezed 20 people in. The only goal of the lancha's driver was to make the chicas crying by driving like crazy. Which can be fun as well, but he chased away all the crocodiles which were sleeping on sunny places. If you like natur experience, try to find some friends to pay for a private boat. It's 2800 pesos with 9 people maximum.

Report Check-In

Nice place, as descripted, get up at 8.00... and take the 1. Boat, afterwords, the buses ariving.....

First lancha the next morning (on a sunday) was at 9.30 instead of 8.00, so don't get up too early.
