We were there, but nobody was there and the gate was closed. So we have to leave. We don't know if this place is still open.

Report Check-In

There was nobody here when we arrived, so we had to find something else. There are signs of somebody living here though.

Report Check-In

Still a nice and quiet place to spend a night. At the T-crossing just before the turnoff you have a gas station, comedor and a little tienda.

Report Check-In

As described, super nice place, lots of room for all kinds of rigs. 25 Q pP/pN, absoluteky quiet, had the place for ourselves. Don't miss the track about 150 m before the crossing / gasstation coming from Chisec - no sign at the road!

Beautiful location at the river. You can swim, explore the cave and hike in the djungle. Very friendly owner. Clean restrooms, quiet and peaceful. We highly recommend!

Quel magnifique endroit!

What a beautiful place! For 25 quezals per adult and 10 per child, we had the site for us alone. Really clean toilet. Trail in the jungle leading to enormous caves, bring your headlamp to discover them! The swing above the river is really fun! I really recommend this beautiful place !!

Report Check-In

Just wow! You're camping in the middle of the jungle! We were completely alone. Some howler monkeys made the scenery perfect. Price for overnight is still the same.

Report Check-In

We still got lost with the updated coordinates. It‘s pretty simple. If you are driving from the north, turn right at where the two highways meet, following signs to chisec and then it’s your first left onto a gravel road (just under 1km after you turn). Then you really are following the gravel road until you find that huge iOverlander icon (how cool is that!) on your left. Loved the quiet of this place. Went for a dip in the water, swam a little in the cave, enjoyed the picnic tables and just having the place to ourselves. Toilets clean and situated in a cute cottage. Still 25 Qp/p.

Report Check-In

GPS location was confusing, and would lead you for a walk through the trees, I've updated it to the entrance at the highway. It is a few hundred meters further up the trail, turn left into the yard at the iOverlander icon on the fence. (15.8724767, -90.1017670)

Beautiful camping spot! Pulled in and a man with gold front teeth met us with a smile and asked us to sign in. Still 25Q/p. A bit overgrown from the lack of activity on the property but not too bad. Bathrooms are great and have been kept up well. We loved the seclusion of this spot, the natural sounds are the best. The river is full and flowing! But brown right now, so we didn’t swim. The current is strong so watch your furry friend if they jump in! Definitely use maps.me to find this spot, Google will take you the wrong way

What a DREAM!

Where one highway meets the next (where the road T’s) there is a dirt road. A few minutes down this road is the camp!

We had this spot to ourselves. Beautiful farm. River is so cool and refreshing. The dogs loved it as much as we did. We even had a rope swing right out our back doors. Would have stayed longer.

Enjoy this lovely spot

Still 25Q/p to camp, they have a place for hammocks. Very nice family and location.

Exactly as described. Perfect piece of heaven. Quiet and great time swimming in the cave...it's cold! Stayed here in a 25' Class C towing a car. Road in was no trouble at all. My dog was allowed to swim but had to stay on leash to protect the sheep. The cats loved the sheep and the birds. I would stay here again. Parked here and drove west to Candelaria Caves for a tube ride through the caves. Amazing experience.

BEAUTIFUL and peaceful. 25Q per person/night. Very friendly owner and family. A hidden gem! Clean toilets and plenty of grassy area to park. Caves you can explore and a river you can jump in at anytime. Lots of picnic tables for cooking. NO signal or wifi so you will be disconnected. Highly recommend!

Wonderful place. 25Q pp/24hrs. Natural pool from river, zip line, cave entrance all included... Cave tubing for 100Q pp, 400Q minimum though...but you may be able to hookup with others from a local hotel. Ask at the front house. About 1.5 hours. You will exit the caves at this place. Be careful though...I was told there were other tourists that I could join and it would only be 100Q...but this ended up being a short 30min tour, which was long enough...just not what was originally quoted for the price.

This is the most wonderful place make sure to visit. Swim float through the caves explore all the underground caves. Bring a flashlight

Must do !!!!!

this place has good reviews already but still is underrated. 25 Q per person
awesome features:
- nice river that comes out of a cave you can swim into and explore.
- a free walking track through the jungle which leads to two huge caves that you can explore
- a few swings
- huge grassy area in the middle of the jungle
- picnic tables
- really nice bathrooms, no showers though
- many fireflies at night
- bird watching during day (saw a tucan)

Stuff we didnt do but the owner told us:
There is also a small zipline across the river and inner tubes for cave tubing for rent. Also you can do some cave tours.

Came during rainy season so the water was brown but really peaceful and super clean toilets. Really friendly kids too. Google will direct you incorrectly though, use maps.ne to find this place the ioverlander sign is down a gravel road 500m east of the junction between the two main roads.

Report Check-In

Excellent find. Beautiful and peaceful place. We paid 25Q/pp at the entrance to the family who oversees the land. We were pleasantly surprised by what we found beyond the rope barrier. This Balneario may be busy during the weekend and high season, but we had it all to ourselves. Clean bathroom, no shower that we could see, small pool, nicely landscaped grassy lot right by the river and opening to the cave. No electricity but it was cool in the evening and we were able to sleep with the back door open. The dirt road in was accessible for our low-clearance 2-wheel drive van.

Report Check-In

Absolutely wonderful spot. The opposite of the nearby hot dusty town! It was quiet, cool in the evening and we could swim in the river when it became hot in the morning. The rain season makes the river brown, but still very awesome: it flows out of a cave:) we were the only ones there, although there’s place for tons of campers! The place looks very well maintained. Absolutely recommended!

Take the dirt road which turns off the main road, just west of the cross of the 9 and 5 highway. There’s no sign there. Follow the dirt road and then you can’t miss the huge overlander sign.
We had no trouble driving without 4x4 in the rain season.

Report Check-In

Beautiful! In the evening Tucans (the small ones) and hummingbirds :)

Report Check-In

beautiful spot with cave and swimming. new Ioverlander sign at entrance so you won't miss it. Q80 for 2 adults, 2 kids (25 for adults, 15 for kids). quiet.

Report Check-In

Really nice little green spot in jungle. Toilets are impeccable. Very quiet on a Tuesday, only one other group. Barbecue grill available (only one) and firewood. Sergio with machete and pink umbrella very friendly and helpful. 25qtz pp.

Report Check-In

Truly a beautiful place, fully recommended. Just as I arrived they were finishing the installation of their new flush toilets, which work and look great! It is very quiet, I had the whole place for myself, other than a herd of goats. The river is clean and teeming with small fish which will nibble at your skin. At night you can see a ton of fireflies around the meadow. The owner is very friendly and accomodating, and looks like he is making improvements in hope that more tourists come, as he told me that this app is his main source of foreign visitors. Price is still Q25 for camping.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot in the jungle, next to a river with caves. Really kind people and waking up with goats nibbling on the doors of truck was quite hilarious. Primitive camping, 25Q pp

Report Check-In

Beautifull place and very quiet.
No service. When we arrived a bottle of soap to clean clothes was on the side of the river in which there was foam. We decided to not swim. Expensive for what it is but this is the Guatemala price I guess.

Report Check-In

Lovely, quiet place in the middle of the nature and by the exit of the Candelaria caves. Very peaceful. Many palapas with tables and benches, good for cooking and eating. Arrived in the dark and first missed the turn as the sign is not very visible. The gate was closed but after we flashed our lights the host came to open the gate and welcomed us in. The man who owns the place is really lovely and speaks perfect English, he would like to get more campers in as it is often empty or quiet. The family who looks after the place is really friendly and the kids were spending time with us. The river is right by the campsite and that is the only water source. Pit toilets were clean. Dogs were welcome and happy to run around free. Price: 25Q/pp/24h
