Sad to report that the vibe must have changed. I was offered the tourist rate, more than double what is posted. The guy (no English) talked about the price of my bike and how I should help him out. Guatemala City is perfect chaos in traffic but I headed out to find something else where. Tequila Sunrise is great! Go there

Still running. First visited here about 8 years ago, Marcus who runs the place is a valuable source of information for much of Guatemala and helping solve issues in and around the city. Paid 265Q for a private room with shared bathroom. Breakfast available for 40Q. Secure parking for motorcycles and trucks.

Located in one of the better, safer parts of the city.

Hotel well placed to visit the Popol Vuh museum, prices are fixed at 275 Q and 25 Q for breakfast. Excellent Wifi

Nice Hostel with very nice people. They helped us out when our transmission broke. Learned about some of the history of Guatemala here on the bike tour. Good craft beer and breakfast is included! Walking distance from all kinds of attractions and amenities.

this place is awesome! I can't believe we found this jewel in the middle of Guatemala city! We were able to drive out camper underneath the arch. we got a room for $55 us...but private bath kitchen n excited our dog...so hard around here. it is very difficult to find because of one way streets. yikes. hired a taxi speaks english. his name is Enrique. he has helped get a tow truck mechanic and found this hotel. I will post his number next. we r across the street from a hospital. I was able to get a cpap hose n get get my glasses fixed yeah!

convinient location if you need the airport or Mechanics, it's a very upclass area, difficult to find cheap/good food (there is a small lunch place left of mc donalds, ~25q)
I checked in with the mother, she did not want to give me a dorm bed for 80q, even she knew I wanted to stay for one week, had to pay 90q.
no outside beers allowed. nice family but better talk to the kids if you want a better deal!

Great small hostel with secure parking for free. Payed 80 Quetzla GTQ for one night in a dorm room with breakfast (fruits, toast and coffee). Internet was fast, showers are warm and neighborhood is very quiet and safe.
