Description

Emergency place at night, not quiet nor free anymore but the best deal we could find around Los Andes.

Still possible to stay here during a night. Nice guy at the entrance. Toilet and shower for women surprisingly quite clean. We were also offered to use the kitchen but we didn't. 4000 CLP/ night.

This was a welcome stop after crossing the border. 5000 pesos for two people and a camper. The women's washroom is small but clean. Quiet. No option for electricity. Fast wifi. Friendly attendant (Richard) will give you wifi key.

This place is called "Parqueadero Los Libertadores"(for the road it's on) and "Rosita" (for its owner). Total price for our motorhome, pickup truck and 2 ppl was CLP 5000/night, including electric: we parked the motorhome right beside the baños building to be able to connect to its electricity, there are no other A/C plugs around.

Hot water is wonderful albeit masculine showers and toilets are very dirty; there's a separate, smaller feminine shower/toilet room at the front of the building for the ladies, in much better shape.

No wifi but great 3G+ cell signal from Entel. Trash cans and washing sinks available beside the toilet/shower building, water can be tapped from the sink but beware it's heavily mineralized.

Lots of noise all day from all the trucks with their engines idling 24/7 (apparently they do it for the air conditioning as it's now summer with temps hitting 36+ Celsius). Also lots of dogs around, surprisingly quiet but all heavily infested with ticks.

Despite the noise and dirt, we stayed a full week while attending to some issues in Los Andes and Santiago: cost/benefit-wise it was the best deal around including electricity, as the other nearby truck parking here in Los Andes had electricity available only during the night, and the campgrounds wanted to charge CLP 18000/night minimum and would not concede any discounts.

We asked to few differents "trucks stop" if we could stay for a night with our van. Not free anymore, they want now around 4000CHP for an overnight parking and banos. Plus an extra for a shower. So we didn't stay and moved to a shell gas station 2km after on the way back to Los Andes (Tierrapuerto exit).

we come here after crossing border from Argentina.
A very big dirt area with a lot of truck,
toilet and hot shower in the corner

Report Check-In

We stopped here late in the day on the way to the Argentina border. Lots of trucks coming and going, but it is a large area and it quiets down around 10pm. There are toilets here (and I believe showers too) but we didn't try them. We did buy a beer from one of the tiendas here. Free to camp.

After a 5-hour chaotic border crossing into Chile, we were glad to have finally found a pretty good place
