grassy spot for an overnight stay, with a little bit wind protection, before/after the glacier visit.
The glacier NP is magnificent. In my mind it's not nessesary to do a boat trip.
There are so many good viewpoints very close to the glacier, so visit the viewpoints first. The boats can't even come so close to the glacier because it is to dangerous. We saw and photograph some falling iceblocks during our 5 hr. stay, we went in at 8.30 am on a sunny day. :-)) The Park is open from 8.00 till 19.00 hr. Price p/p per day 800 pes, 1200 for 2 days (Jan 2020) no animals allowed. Try to be there early, the first tourist bus arrive at 10:30, before you will be alone!
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Great place to spend the night. No facilities at all, but quite safe and it's a beautiful spot.
Report Check-Inthe bridge site is not flat at all. this one is beautiful, but you don't have a good poop place as you Can see every campers around you in the pampa 😅
Report Check-InGreat place to stay. No facilities. No problem during the night. There is a river to fill a bottle of water if you have a filter. Thank you for the spot.
Report Check-Ingreat spot, no facilities, we were there with 3 other campers. not much shelter for the wind.
Report Check-InIndeed a beautiful spot to stay for the night. We liked it so much, we came back after visiting the park. We had a clear day with no wind, which made this spot the best we've camped at in a long time: very quiet and no trash at all, hopefully it can stay that way! (please bury or take your toilet paper as well- leave no trace!)
Report Check-InGood one with a fire pit. Be carefull if there is wind. No wind protection but it was not windy when we were there. we enjoyed the silence!
Report Check-InNice and quiet place indeed. To find the access, drive to the left at the crossing if you come from El Calafate. If you come from the glacier, drive to the right, not to Calafate. Shortly after the crossing you will see the tracks of the other overlanders on the left side. Follow them, cross the little creek and then make your choice for the night. Plenty of space for everybody.
Report Check-InWe stayed there one night with the van. Nice place close to the park. No issues at all, note that we were there in off season though. Probably not ideal for tents due to the extreme wind.
Report Check-Ingood place, oye Night was very windy, but our camper not has problems, but probably not for tents, not wind cover.
Report Check-InReally nice and quiet place to spend a night before or after visiting Perito Moreno.
Report Check-InQuiet, very close to entrance. Ideal to be early at the glacier. 3 young policemen came with thumbs up for our Iveco daily 4x4 and said that staying here is okay!
Report Check-InGood for a night when you arrive late. Lots of wind when we were there. Lots of dirt and animal bones in the corner where we parked.
Report Check-InStayed here for a night before the glacier visit.
Placed our car (VW Amarok with Camper, 3,20m high) with the front toward south, which was a fault! We had very very strong wind from west over the night it felt like the would flip over- a bit scary.
Also- of you go out in the night , look out for animals.
But the next day it was only 7 minutes to the park entrance.
We slept here two nights. Before and after visiting Perito Moreno. We had no problems. Alone and with nature all arround.
Report Check-InGood, large and quiet place with nice views, well hidden from both roads.
Report Check-InVery quiet place. Perfect to spent the night before going to the claciar. Space for many rigs. NB You have to cross a small creek.
Report Check-Ingrassy spot for an overnight stay, with a little bit wind protection, before/after the glacier visit.
