Camping, cottages and a house available at Goxhill Trout Lodge.
Closest campsite to Underberg as far as we could see. We needed signal to work so Goxhill could offer us that. Grassy campsites with electrical plug-ins. We had a well-shaded spot for our big rig.
I would recommend taking along some bug protection window covers for your camper as it is a dairy farm and attracts flies. Could see the dam from our campsite. Host was friendly (Tian/Victor - we chatted to Tian). Ablutions clean and the site was R240pn.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We had an issue finding a campsite closer to town as we needed to get some work done. This was the only establishment in the area and was a good stop for our big rig. Victor/Tian can be contacted to arrange your stay. Grassy sight in walking distance from dam. We had a well shaded spot. The ablutions were neatly kept and clean. We had hot water and there was a kitchen to make use of. We had good internet signal and we could get some work done. I would however recommend having some sort of bug guards on your camper - as it is a dairy farm and the flies are quite busy. The price was good at R240 per night. Electricity included. Water not potable, so take some with if you're going. Tian checked in everyday to see if things were good. Friendly and good conversation. Good place to stay if you need some signal. They also offer cottages and the house, which has a decent vintage style to it.
Report Check-InNot possible for high vehicles. Owner helpful, organised a site at his neihbour, only parking, but safe
Report Check-InIn the valley between Underberg & Himeville, very quiet setting - no fishing for us, just one night stay on our way through Drakensberg
Our dog was welcome !
Beautiful location next to the lake. Viktor was very friendly and helpful
peaceful night. Toilet and kitchen clean. R100pp
A perfect ovelanding campsite:
Victor is a charming host. Lovely green lawn, overlooking the dam. Lovely farm smells. Clean ablutions, warm water, flushing toilets. Clean kitchen, bring your own utensils. Lovely fireplace in kitchen. Everything is CLEAN.
Just to confirm the former statements. Still open, still very green, still very clean, still 100 pppn.
We are the first camping guests for a very long time because of Corona.
Extremely nice place in the heart of a farm. Grassy sites with beautiful views. Toilet is very clean and with hot water. Kitchen is basic with no pots/utensils available but very clean too. There is a fire place in the kitchen, too. Very good stop-over.
Report Check-InWe really enjoyed our night here. 100 rand pppn. Big clean bathroom that has hot water shower, running water toilet and a bath tub in it. Viktor, the friendly owner/caretaker, showed us around when we arrived. There was a kitchen we could use too, although we opted to braai. Electricity is included in the price and is available at the campsite. The property is home to about 5 friendly dogs of all shapes and sizes who welcomed us and kept us company until we left. Highly recommended before or after the sani pass!
Report Check-In5 grassy campsites next to a working farm with all of the farm aromas. Clean ablutions and a pleasant stopover environment.
Report Check-InGreat option if you don’t like the Sani Backpackers Lodge (like us..) Lovely garden to camp, quiet place, great views, clean ablutions with good showers, friendly caretaker called Viktor and nice dogs.
Report Check-InGrassy campsite. Nice view on Drakensbergen. Private clean ablutions. 100 Rd pp
