Description

Great new hostel that offers parking for vans or truck campers in the shade for 5$ per person/night. There's a shower, bathroom, kitchen, wifi (slow) and great hostel vibes. The place is clean and secure. Gates are closed at night. Connected to electricity for the fan in our tent and it was fine.
Guests say the beds are comfortable. They have breakfast for 3$ and purified drinking water for sale by the litre. Laundry available.

Super nice place ! People are nice and there is a lot of restaurant and things to do around. 7$ per person per night. Surf is good. They accept dogs. We’ve been here for 4 days and the internet was strong enough to work. We were also able to use electricity as there was shade covering our solar panels

Cute little hostal right by the beach! They had a couple nice rooms with clean bathrooms and showers. They had a shared kitchen with basic stuff. They also had nice shades handout areas all around the hostal. They had a lot in the back for camping big enough for 2 campers. They also had electricity we could use which was nice because it is very hot here. They ended up charging us $7usd a night.

If you like the backpackers vibes you will love it here. Unfortunately we didn’t feel comfortable here. There were so many tents for the volunteers inside the parking lot where you sleep (less than 1 meter from you).
7$ per person per night with cold shower, toilet, wifi, shared kitchen, water to drink (also I think you can fill up your water tank).
Very close to the beach and you can surf here.
We almost couldn’t drive to the last road with our truck camper because of the trees (we are too high, 3m3).
Full 4G with claro.

Nice Hostel with friendly staff. The garden was was full with tents so we parked just outside the gate. Clean toilets and showers 7$ per person.

nice hostel, w steps from the beach, owner Matteo is awesome , space for a couple of vans as most of the yard is busy with tents, nice kitchen and facilities, can plug in to electricity, enough shade but not a noon, maybe we didn't get the best bunch fo people at the time so the vibes weren't the best but I still would reccomend.paid 7 us pp

Report Check-In

Great place. If you camp in a tent or RV, all facilities are at your disposal. And Matteo is a really nice host. Highly recommended.

A typical hostel! And yes it is very popular with backpackers. There is a camping area but it is on the small side. Nevertheless, we did fit (we’re also pretty tall) and the internet reached our camper. As described, we could hang out in the common areas and even help ourselves to the drinking water. We found $6 p/p to be very reasonable. The sea and the town are a bit on the rough side though!

Report Check-In

for 6$ pp per night we could park at the hostel on their parking. There were a lot of people sleeping in tents, hammocks and their rooms as well, so there wasn't a lot of space or shade. It was still a nice hostel, might be better if there are less people. Was hot during the day but you can plug in, in case you got AC/fan/fridge that runs on electricity. Free mangos from the trees around!

Perfect place to relax after the awful Nicaragua Border. We stay for four days and paid 6 $ p.P.p.N. Great outdoor shower with good pressure, clean toilets. You can use the whole hostal area (kitchen, chill out area etc.). Great beach to surf as well as restaurants, bars etc. in walking distance. Highly recommend!!

Report Check-In

Great hostel with parking space for 1-2 vans out back. Clean washrooms and showers, full kitchen, Wi-Fi, outdoor gym, and lots of nice chill common areas, really nice owner and staff. Close to the beach for surf. We really liked this place, highly recommend! Stayed 2 nights, $6USD pp / night.

Everything closed and really too small for our big truck camper. In the whole so called city nothing 😕

Probably the best IOverlander spot in las penitas, the italian owners are very happy to welcome Overlanders.
We paid $5pp per night with access to clean doucha y banos, electricity, kitchen and wifi.
Cool hostel vibes with yoga class.
30 seconds away from the beach

Very nice and calm hostel close to the beach. Still 5$pp and worth the price ! Gated parking, clean toilets, showers, kitchen, bar.. There's also yoga classes, movie nights, surf rental (very cheap). The owner and the workers there are very friendly. Also, their breakfast are very healthy and tasty. Totally recommend it !

Report Check-In

We stayed 2 nights. $5USD per person to camp in the car. Secured parking lot. Good WiFi and nice areas for relaxing. The bathrooms were dirty. The kitchen could have been cleaner but it was alright. Friendly staff and other overlanders when we were there. Dog-friendly. Short walk to the beach and less than 10-minute walk to pulperia for food, fruits, and supplies.

Report Check-In

One of the best hostel we have been so far. Super chill, no super crowded, mix of locals and travelers. You can either park your van in the parking lot, sleep in a tent, in old westfalia, dorm or private room. Price is 5$/pp for all accommodations except for the westfalia and the private room. Kitchen available, yoga session, surf lessons, tours and boards to rent.
The owner Mateo is super chill and very kind.
I really recommend that place

A really beautifully designed hostel with friendly Italians owners. Clean and well taken care of. $5 per person, per night. We managed to fit our big Sprinter in the back parking area. Highly recommended if staying in Las Penitas

Stayed 2 nights. Super fun place! 5 usd per night for camping. 4 if you stay 3 nights or more. Cool hostel vibes. Endless mangos. Very good kitchen. Highly recommend.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for 4 nights, $6pp per night. It's a busy hostel with lots of hang out areas, a kitchen, hammocks, a small cafe, rustic door-less outdoor showers and clean toilets. Mateo the owner is super nice and helpful. The parking lot is very small, can only fit maximum 3 cars and is next to 6 or 7 permanent tents. Big safe gate behind. Beach is across the road. Surf break is wild. Facilities to wash your clothes.

Report Check-In

They charge 6$ now p.P. including Van and electricity. But we agreed on 5$ as we stayed 3 nights. You can park in the back of the hostel under a tree to get some shade. As we were here they had a lot of work so that wood was laying around and it was a bit noisy. It's owened by an italian guy (didn't see a girl the days we stayed). You can use the kitchen, which is not very clean. So better to have your own stuff and just use the stove. Wifi is average, showers are cold but refreshing at the high outside temperature. Hostel is closer to the main surfbreak and some restaurants. That's why we moved from Rigos place to here.

Report Check-In

Low season rates at $4 pp a night. Very chilled and hospitable, good amenities. We arrived to a Saturday fiesta which they have a few times a month with live music and food. They finished the party by midnight being respectful to the guests.

Backpacker hostel in quiet little surf town. Italian couple opened it four months ago. Parking available in back next to tents which are popular. Nice people, friendly dogs. Good wifi but doesn't work in back. $5USD per person per night.

This is a good jumping of place for Leon. Leon was too hot and with a dog it's hard to find a good spot. We parked in the back lot with the tents. Not enough room to set up our awning and kitchen so we had to eat out. Dog friendly.

Wonderful to park in the shade. Lovely Italian lady and her two daughters working very hard to make a nice little hostal. $5pppn included electricity if you have long enough extension cord. Across from beach but really easy access. Stayed a week and did sunset volcano tour, mangrove boat ride and
visited Leon only twenty minutes drive.
