Description

We arrived here on a Friday morning and parked towards the back where the public bathrooms are. When we woke up Saturday morning the lot was roped off and there were people charging to enter, we stayed until Monday afternoon and it was an open lot again, we never had to pay! Free parking on weekdays, noisy during the day, quiet at night, for the most part. Convenient walk to anywhere in town.
40 pesos per day on the weekends free during the week.
Wifi & Cell:
You can actually grab a decent wifi overnight. A couple of unsecured store wifi networks worked. We ran Netflix from it quite easily.
Cel Reception is great. Full 4G on Telcel. Didn;t try other SIMS.

Weekday parking there is no charge and no bother. As there isn’t a formal campground in Real Del Monte this will have to do. And it does very well, no services no fees at least on weekdays. Walking from here is easy if you have the breath!

Felt safe as per previous posts. I arrived on a Thursday and left on a Monday. They will come and charge you for the weekends. One guy want 200 pesos! Then the boss came over and showed me the ticket book and it’s 40 pesos per day on a weekend which I was happy to pay. Close to centro easy access in and out of town. No height restrictions. Good telcel coverage.

We spent two nights here. Very cute little mountain town. The parking lot was free and police monitor it quite frequently. 5$ baño in the parking lot.

I stayed there for 3 nights in june 2021 and it was very good. Safe and well lit, there are cameras from the city overlooking the big parking lot and no people bothered at all.
iu arrived a friday night and it was absolutely free, the following morning, as my colleagues say, they started to charge tohose cars coming in as the town gets very busy with tourists mainly from the city of Pachuca and Mexico city

Ok, stay. But it was very noisy until 11pm. Not a lot of people at all, but noisy cars and the abomination that is reggaeton blasting out from somewhere. After 11 there was some other music but not loud. The combo of noise, and altitude (we came from weeks at sea level) didn't make for a great night sleep. The car park is big, plenty of room, slightly sloped but we got level with a couple of blocks.

As you look left ut of the car park (uphill) there is a little Pastes place on the corner which does absolutely amazing papas and carne Pastes and a surprisingly good rice pudding (Arroz co Leche) Paste too. Definitely worth a try.

Stayed one night ( Thursday) without any issue; was very calm during the night and we felt safe; in the morning 3/4% of the parking lot was blocked and people were setting up a huge tent

Cute little town and safe place to park while exploring. Police drove by frequently and we asked if it was safe to stay. They said no problem and gave us their number to call.

Well lit and has security cameras as well.

We pulled in on a Monday, no charge to park. It was pretty flat and mostly quiet at night, close to the town center. Tuesday morning the parking lot filled up with 7 tour size buses full of students.
No problems, nice for a night or so to check out this cute little town.
