Description

Hotel, museum and bar / restaurant set in the old meat and wool works of Puerto Bories - the buildings have been beautifully restored and are amazing to explore. The museum focuses on the history of the processing plant, and the meat and wool industries in the area. Lots of restored machinery, old photos and info avail in English. The museum is 5000pp or you can buy a drink at their fancy bar and visit for free - can't lose really. Entry to museum is through the hotel reception. The staff are super lovely and welcoming. The prices for food and drink at the restaurant are actually not too bad - after hiking in the Parque we recommend heading to town for a shower and then coming here for a treat-yourself meal. Doubt you could sleep in the carpark though...

We went there today and asked at the reception, but the bar and restaurant were closed because of a private meeting/conference. We were only allowed to visit the museum, but price increased to 10.000 CLP. So we left. Nice people though and I guess it is an interesting building.

Museum and hotel bar/restaurant are very beautiful and worth a visit. We tried what most people recommend here: have a drink at the lovely bar and visit the museum afterwards for free. When we entered however, both the hostess at the entrance and reception said the bar and restaurant were fully booked and they weren’t allowed to let any more people in. So we paid the 10.000 CLP pp for the museum only. When during the tour we saw that the bar and restaurant were COMPLETELY empty (~5:30pm), we asked again and suddenly it was not a problem to have drinks. So eventually we paid double and didn’t get a refund of the entrance fee. We felt they weren’t completely honest from the beginning. They mentioned however if you have a reservation for the bar, the museum is for free. So make sure you arrange this beforehand!

We wandered in here about 3pm on a overcast and cold Tuesday afternoon. We explained at the reception that we would like to order something from the bar and visit the museo. The staff were friendly, welcoming and well-informed about the history of the buildings and eager for us to visit the displays. After a lovely hot chocolate in their spectacular bar, we wandered freely around the items, reading the informative notices which were in both Spanish and English. Really recommend a visit and, if you booked ahead, the evening meals are not unreasonably priced compared to Europe and I suspect they are also spectacular.

Popped in for an off the cuff visit around 17:00. Place was empty ! Had a lovely couple of hot chocolates and fruit juices in the bar. Cost us 20,000 CLP inc tip but was worth it. Wandered upstairs afterwards and then the area just outside the restaurant. Then wandered in to reception and asked them to
point us in the direction of the other part of the museum. Didn’t pay for the museum. No audio guide but plenty of signs in English/Spanish. Well worth a visit.

Still here, still interesting museum/hotel. $5000pp to do auto guided tour.
Worth a visit

Worth a stop when you are passing by. Beautifully renovated where old and new are mixed. Museum is self guided, interesting, doesn't take much time, 5.000 pesos pp. Bar and Restaurant can be full so don't get disappointed.

Absolutely recommend this awesome place. Walk through the museum (5000 CLP pp) and have a drink at their lounge. Very reasonable prices. Very unique place. Great to hang out for a couple of hours. We wanted to have dinner here (20-25k CLP main course), however the restaurant was fully booked for the coming 5 days. Booking for dinner in advance is therefore our recommendation!

Wow, beautiful made hotel and restaurant in an old factory. The hotel is out of our budget (around 500 euros a night), but the prices in the bar are much better. Comfortabel couches in the bar and fast WIFI. Good place to relax after multiple days of hiking!

Agree with former comments, beautiful hotel with bar and a self-walk-through museum.
The prices in the bar are ok for it being a 5-star place, we definitely paid more for a draft beer in Hotel Grey than a fancy drink (~ CLP 6000) here... ;-)

Report Check-In

Very upscale hotel with nice bar / restaurant. Coffee and limonada pricing (2,800 + 3,000 respectively) was reasonable (cheaper than in town), especially considering the comfort and class of the place. I would recommend putting on clean clothes before going.

Report Check-In

The bar is probably the most perfect location in this region to pass some time! With all the couches and cushions, it is extremely cozy, while the prices are fair and normal. For example, 2.800 CLP for a good coffee with (soy) milk is absolutely reasonable. We had more expensive and worse coffee in Puerto Natales ... Therefore, this place is simply fantastic. Moreover, the small museum is well made and interesting. Recommended!

The museum is really interesting and the bar is reasonably priced with lots of couches to curl up on. Fantastic service and they even had gluten free bread as an option with our cheese platter.. Definitely worth the visit!
