Description

Boondocking on the beach. You need a 10$ annual Beach Parking Permit that you can buy at a few places in the area. We bought our permit at Basket Market in Winnie. Permit is valid for one year (Jan. 1st to Dec. 31)

2WD perfectly fine. Very buggy at night.
Decent service AT&T and Verizon.

Amazing spot… but we woke up in the middle of the night . There was thousands of mosquitoes in the rv even if all the windows were closed. Never seen something like this!

Stayed there one night. No pass required in the winter from what a store clerk told me. Quiet and clean beach. Could kite my paraglider in the morning. Could drive my 2wd eurovan on the beach with no problem.

Very nice large beach with waste blue baskets at each 600 feet identified with a number. We reside at no 40 close to the entrance on Melody lane. We camp far from stilts beach chalet.

Beautiful and almost empty. I tried to purchase a pass, but the person at the information center told me not to worry about it this time of year. It great listening to the surf.

There is a grocery store a few miles east and several restaurants as well.

As described wonderful place to stay, peaceful, beautiful Sunrise and stars, hardly anyone around in off season, can park pretty much anywhere along the beach and very hard packed sand absolutely no issue in 2wd van, porta-shitters spaced in few parking lots along the road

had a great time on the beach for the last two weeks. The sand is no joke though.

2WD is no problem. 144” WB Sprinter with stock tires at 67 PSI.

Check photos.

This place is extraordinarily buggy at night, so I recommend shutting in. Even found a way in through the maxxair fan.

Not so buggy in the morning. Okay to open up and enjoy the sound of the sea.

Flesh-eating bacteria warnings so skip the swim.

Good spot, was just us overnight. A couple of 4x4's playing around at night, some other cars along in the morning.

We stayed in Bolivar for about a week and purchased our permit at the Park Admin Building in La Marque. We saw advertisements at the Big Store/Ace that they had them too. Most of the beach was hard packed and easy to traverse in 2wd but we did end up getting stuck trying to turn around. Lucky for us the beach was busy and there were some locals with Jeeps right next to us who could pull us out. Tons of seashells towards Crystal Beach. We weren't bothered while we were there and you can't beat the view. FYI this beach was cleaner than the free beach closet to the ferry.

As described, Nice beach with hard packed sand. We did not need a permit and spent the night fine. Nice to wake up on the beach!

As described. Great flat beach. Easy for 2wd access. Stayed one night. A few trucks moving up and down the beach until 11pm. Mosquitoes come out after dark. Great place to wake up and have a morning swim!

Very nice beach! recommend going to the West part near the ferry if you have a big rig and want more privacy. Before March the beach permit is not widely available.
