Description

Spacious campsite on the shore of the Hendrick Van Eck Dam in Mhlosinga Nature Reserve. Places to choose from with or without shade under big trees. Crocodiles and sometimes Hippos in the dam. All kinds of antelopes, giraffes, wildebeasts and warthogs in the reserve. Good for an overnight stop, noisy sugarcane mill on the opposite shore in Big Bend. 70 Rand Entry and 150 Rand per Person for Camping. Electric plugs not on site, only at kitchen/ablution building. Shower heated with electric boiler. It’s the replacement for the Ubombo Yacht Club campsite next door.

Camp site next to the lac (with view on the factory on the opposite side). Price has increased it’s now 70pp for the park + 150pp for campsite (so 420 in total for two) which is a bit expensive.
You have a big shelter with electricity, ablution block are ok. The kitchen was not opened (still under renovation).

Camping is next to the dam under trees with Braai stands.

Electricity at the main building incl. ablutions which are clean and almost modern.
There is also a kitchen.
And a big Veranda with chairs and a big fire place (fire wood provided).

Good signal with swazi mobile. 3 G data.

Entrance to the nature reserve is 60 (for adults). Camping is 40. See photos for prices - also fishing permits.

Take exit to Big Bend and just for town turn right on to gravel road to Mshlongina Nature Reserve. Campsite is in the Reserve

Perfect stopover on the way if you are coming upnorth from south africa. It is about an hours drive from the Golela border post.
