Description

nice camping. 30000TZSpp

All meals are excellent and they have a nice wine selection as well.

Located 1 hours drive from Moshi and on a clear day you can see almost a 150km view from the lodge towards Mount Meru, the crater and to the other side Kilimanjaro.

You can also buy fruits, vegetables, meat and dairy products on the farm.

Would recommend to stay here!

Really lovely spot. Great campsite with good facilities. Staff are all lovely and helpful. Food is amazing with very generous portions, great for a hungry cyclist. $10 camping. $30 for three course meals. $15 for breakfast. Considering the quality and quantity not bad value.

We loved it here; heaven for the kids, they are allowed to play everywhere on the farm, amazing food, nice terrace to sit and have sundowners, good sheltered area on the campsite. Staff is exceptionally good. You can so a machine of laundry for USD 10 and you can buy fresh fruit, vegetables and bread.

one of the best places. We had a car problem and the owner went to great lengths until he found the problem. We also did an oil change. The food in the restaurant is wonderful. Highly recommended

They've built a nice shelter with tables and a braai in the camping area. You can order a loaf of bread for 5,000 tzs in advance. 10usd ppp. Great 4g with Vodacom. Very nice place! Downside is the noise of motos and tractors in the early morning from workers going to work on the fields nearby.

Beautiful location with views over Mt. Meru. Abblutions are good and showers are hot (donkey). Campsites are shaded under big trees. Downside is that is gets very muddy when it rains. Dinner is very good with produce from their own farm and very large portions. Friendly staff and owners. Paid 20.000tsh pppn.

Report Check-In

Lovely campsite with very friendly owners who let us park our car for free for one week while we were climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. We stayed for 6 nights and bought a lot of veggies, fruits, meat and even freshly baked bread from the farm for a very low price and it was delicious.

Report Check-In

What an amazingly beautiful setting to camp at next to Kili. This is a working farm and the camping area is under loafs of trees with a beautiful view of Mount meru.. The staff was awesome and so friendly and was very welcoming.. We were not lucky enough to see kili due to weather but I believe on a clear day you will be able to see it... They offer meals st the restaurant and have a beautiful bar area. Ablution facilities is perfect and we had hot water for the shower. Great alternative to staying in the park.. We paid THS20 000 per person per night

Report Check-In

Very nice place, the owners are very friendly. The dinner was excellent : avocado, salad potatoes wedges, chicken, vegetarian plate, carrots, brocolis, tomatoes, muffin with ice cream. Very rich and very good. We paid 20000 pppn. Toilet and shower (hot) clean.

Report Check-In

It is a nice, but pricy place, if you don’t camp!
We paid 300.000 Tsh for a double room with full board!
Food was good, but not exceptional.
When we asked about prices and options via WhatsUp and e-mail upfront, we didn’t get any answer.
Only after calling them on WhatsUp we got some feedback.
We didn’t see any shop to buy products.

Report Check-In

Excellent campsite, very shaded! Hot showers (the right tap at men's shower), clean toilets, spot for washing dishes. A bit noisy early morning as motorcycles and trucks pass through the main road to reach plantation fields. Amazing sunset overlooking Mount Meru ! Great 4G with Vodacom. Some possible walks around. Be aware that elephants may pass through the campsite.

Report Check-In

Super place! So zen! Farm is beautiful, with gardens en swimming pool, and campsite has warm showers! Food is incredible! Kids enjoyed it tremendously also horseriding.

Report Check-In

The lodge area is very nice, green and with a lot of flowers. Food in the restaurant is great and you can order a lot of veggies, bread, yoghurt and eggs here( not everything is super fresh though and bread came from the freezer..)
The Dutch host is very friendly and can tell you a lot about what to do on the farm! There is a nice walk to the river and multiple hikes on the farm(it is huge!)
The campsite itself was a bit disappointing compared to the green lodge area it feels a bit like campers are not important. View of mount Meru with sunset is beautiful!
From this place you can drive around mount Kilimanjaro to Moshi.

Report Check-In

This place between Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro is absolutely beautiful!
Nice and super clean bathrooms.
Hosts are very friendly.
Food is absolutely amazing, we had dinner every evening.
And you can buy vegetables, fruits, meat, eggs and super tasty bread!
We highly recommend this place!

Really lovely place well maintained. Stayed on campsite for a night. You can by vegetables, meet and wine. $ 10 pppn. We didn’t had food at the restaurant. A campfire can be provided. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would come back anytime.

Report Check-In

Nice little campsite with good ablutions. Food was really nice, we also bought fresh produce. There was no meat or eggs, so it varies. Because of the rains there were a lot of stingy flies, that made it a bit less nice for us, but would come back in other season.

Report Check-In

Best place to camp and stay in the area. Private camping with good showers, toilets and great views. 10/10 !! Excellent food options if you opt in. Closest location to gate to drive up to 3500 on Kilimanjaro.

Report Check-In

all ike said before.
as someone was complaining that:
WIFI is now free and shower has possibility to hang clothes.
Very friendly owner and a beautiful place to stay.
They also give us a power plug via extension!
We enjoyed it much.

20000Tzspp. Lovely campsite, shady, nicely set and well equiped. hot water, clean ablutions, firewood, tables and benches, friendly staff. various flat terraces. it is really on a farm. some walks around.

Report Check-In

As all the previous comments, good place to stay.

Report Check-In

great Villa close the camp area. camp area I nice and ablutions perfect. probably bit pricey for the service. do not miss to go and see the Kilimanjaro view around 18:30, 15 min driving left from the camp.

Report Check-In

Lovely setting and great views. Good ablutions and water hot. Beautifully quiet! Kids loved the farm and the lovely river walk plus pool. Grass needs to be cut though in the campsite and many pitches not quite level - no problem for RTT, just place a stone under 1 or 2 wheels.
By the way, they sell lots of fresh produce including meat, dairy and eggs at reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

Report Check-In

What an incredible place. The owners are so friendly and helpful and the campsite perfect and toilet and shower new and clean. The dinner was absolutely superb and the views incredible. Highly highly recommended. Staff member Martha was an absolute pleasure and couldn’t do enough to make us comfortable

Report Check-In

lovely grassed campsite with great views.

Report Check-In

We had high hopes for our stay here but were disappointed. It’s perfectly OK, but nothing special as far as campsites go. Food very nice and showers hot, but it’s one of those lodges where us campers end up feeling like second class citizens!

Extra charge for campers to use facilities such as the pool or the WiFi. No one came to open up the ablutions (or clean them) when we arrived. I had to go and ask for them to be unlocked (I was then handed a bunch of keys), I had to go back to ask for toilet paper. The shower floor was dirty and there was no where at all to put dry clothes/towel while I showered - except on the muddy floor!

Overall, I would stop here again if I were passing, but I wouldn’t make a special trip to visit this place.

Simba farm lodge lies beautifully in the hills close to Kilimanjaro NP and has breathtaking views of Mount Meru. The lodge is a great stop for a couple of days although the camp site is simple with only a few facilities, such as toilet, hot shower and a big fire pit.
The campsite has some flat spots to park your car or pitch your tent and wifi is available at the lodge itself on certain hours due to the fact that the lodge isn’t on the main power supply yet.
You can have dinner, lunch or breakfast for good prices and most of the food is freshly of the farm itself. We had dinner here and without a doubt the best dinner we had at a lodge/campsite.
You can also buy your fresh produce such as meat, veggies and herbs here for reasonable prices.
Owners and Staff are very friendly and are really willing to help you out with everything. The owners also have a pit and can help you out if you have a problem on your car.

Report Check-In

camp sites are inaccessible after rain. had to stay in a room. quite expensive for 70 US $ p.p even with halfboard included. still a very nice place

Report Check-In

All good. Also a good place from which to visit Kilimanjaro NP.

Report Check-In

Camping next to Lodge also fits Big rigs easily. Lodge area beautifully maintained. Nice view of Meru. Bonfire at night. Had a room open for warm shower and toilet. There is also Swimmingpool. You Can buy farm fresh goods. 20000 TZS pppn. Like it.

Update from 03/2019: nice clean hot showers and toilets on camping site. 30000 tsh pppn

Report Check-In

A beautiful Dutch farm!! We enjoyed the diner with the family and both fresh bread in the morning. Everything made from there own farm so very delicious.
Nice and quiet place, new campsite almost finished next to the lodges.
Recommend this place 👌

Report Check-In

They still build up the Campsite for campers. The one next to the Lodge is pretty but not accessible for cars so we had to stay outside. They opened a room so we could use the ablutions. Can be a nice place when it´s completed. Food at the restaurant was very good. And you have beautiful view of Mount Meru. Saturday night there was a big get together at the church close by so it was really noisy during the whole night.

Report Check-In

All of the information below is still correct! They have a new campsite for overlanders right next to the lodge with view of mount Meru. They have a swimming pool and a beautiful garden! The food is excellent and price worthy. Camping costs TSH 20000 pppn with the availability of fresh produce and bread straight from the farm. Very relaxed, very friendly and helpful staff. Nice facilities, and they offer a lot of activities for the surrounding area. Great for children to enjoy the farm and animals. They gave us a key to use the warm shower in one of the rooms.

Report Check-In

There a two places to stay at the farm, near the lodge is a mini-camping for tents only and 7km from the lodge is the campsite for overland cars, etc.

All meals are excellent and they have a nice wine selection as well.

Located 1 hours drive from Moshi and on a clear day you can see almost a 150km view from the lodge towards Mount Meru, the crater and to the other side Kilimanjaro.

You can also buy vegetables, meat and dairy products on the farm.

Would recommend to stay here!
