Something not right?

Description

Very angry policeman. They asked for passavant, assurance, drivers license (put in in their bag), medical kid, triangle and judged me because i wear no shoes. They wanted 500.000 Guinea money (62€).
Guys from Liberia helped us, they spoke with the police. We had to pay, gave them 200.000 or they didn’t gave me my liscence back.

Worst police stop we had on our way since here!

Same experience as mariuszg.
Strict appearance in the beginning, then after the first moments more relaxed.
Asked for car documents and driving license (we handed out copies only), checked for shoes (we did not wear sandals), medical kit and triangle.
Also asked for medicine (which we did not give because we do not have the ones they asked for).
After 10 minutes we were on the road again.

Report Check-In

very strict at the beginning but relaxed when I calmly showed them everything they wanted. Maybe they know will find no hook, let me go after 5 min.

Report Check-In

For a checkpoint close to a border crossing, a completely understandable behavior. We were asked for passports and Carnets. No further discussion, just checking people because of proximity to Sierra Leone.

Report Check-In

It is important to put on sturdy shoes, wear a seatbelt, approach the road obstacle slowly, only hand out copies of the documents and laugh a lot while discussing. He asked for gifts and money. The police officer let us move on after 10 minutes.

Report Check-In

After 5 minutes of talking and a lot of misunderstanding of the language, we were allowed to move on. Wear sturdy shoes, wear a seatbelt and only give copies of documents. Always be friendly.

No problems at all at this check point today. There was even someone reassuring us that there would not be an issue. However south of the town there was a corrupt police check. Held our carnet and international driving licence to ransom for about an hour. Fined us for wearing sandals. Wanted 500,000 GF but in end paid 50,000 GF fine as per the receipt.
