Passed through here today (Monday morning 10:30) and the cops were there. It’s a mobile unit so location will vary. We stuck to 5kph below the 60 kph speed limit and got through no issues. They had a speed camera set up… so yeah, still there!

Corrupt police with same old game. Its a tourist trap where there are two lanes separated by a long solid line in Managua direction and they stand on the end of the right one so you have to cross the line to the left to basically not kill them and then they fine you for crossing the line. Just approach the spot on the left lane, then you're good, hopefully. We were stopped by corrupt cops the second time that day and after starting to discuss again for hours we ended up paying because life is too short.

also its 200 m off the ioverlander gps

Report Check-In

11:38 am police stopped us and explained we drove out of the line and it costs 20,- US. I speak Spanish but just played a bit dump and started discussing. They explained we should look in our rear mirror how people drive here and how it should be but in this moment a Truck drove out of the line as well. But the police was not interested to stop this truck because he was a local. Anyways we said we want a bank payment form and we would like to go to the bank and pay our fine since we don’t have enough cash. All of a sudden they waved us through. DON’T PAY!
